To ask what has your dh/dp done to make you think "My Hero"? Dh has done a few, one of them was to manoeuvre a large armchair from the lounge up the stairs (on his own) to the bedroom, so that I could just slip out of bed and breastfeed in comfort. I had a bad back and couldn't get comfy in bed. Couldn't believe it when I saw the armchair coming through the bedroom door!

Just to explain further, the armchair was coming in sideways, too big to fit through straight.Smile

Was about to write a lovely long list of all the wonderful things my DH had done for me, then read your last post and thought if you're going to make sweeping generalisations like that then, nope. I'll keep the lovely long list of his wonderfulness to myself.

Mine does the kind of things yours does op. Did weird meditations with me when I was having a hard time even though he thought it was all a load of crap (he told me a few years down the line).

Also can't clean up his pants for love nor money but hey ho Grin

my Oh gets up out of bed two hours before hes due in work to drive me to work five days a week , takes 15 minutes in the car same journey with wait for the bus would be 3/4 of an hour

This is probably outing...
I was in hospital for nearly 3 months, when I was brought home (I would be bedbound for many more months) I had found dh had completely redecorated for me - not only kitchen and hallway but he had created my dream bedroom with new floors, wallpaper I’d always wanted, bedding id lusted after for months - he even roped one of my friends in to do some finishing touches so I had gorgeous decor items too and photos of all my friends and family to look at so I didn’t get sad... honestly I still cry when I think of how much hard work he put into it, all while holding down the fort and looking after our 3dc on his own too. Total hero Smile

Not my DH but a lovely, random, older man stuck up for me today when some nasty git trod on my feet and pushed in front of me on a packed train platform today (does that count).

Stopped me marrying a guy who was violent and too scared to tell his bullying mum he was gay. I was petrified of him and his mum so was trying to pretend it was all ok and using alcohol to blot it out.
Dread to think where I'd be now without him.
A happy accident that we met. We were mates for a while after he helped me call it off (and dealt with the fallout afterwards). Then we got together. 2 Dcs and 20 years near on later and I'm very happy.

What I love most about him is that he is so on my side.

Want to change career and earn half your current salary? Go for it, we'll work it out.

Need to be away for weeks for work? Go for it, I'll be fine with the kids.

Basically any one of my daft ideas he just grabs with both hands and says he's got my back. I just love that.

My DH was my hero when he was still my fiancé. My mum died in a hospice with just me there. I texted him to come down at 4.30am (40 mins before she died) and he arrive just after. He then rang my cousins, my mum's (ex husband but on/off partner) and my uncle to tell them because I couldn't do it.

Knowing he had the strength to do that for me in that moment meant everything to me.

Being supportive, kind and patient when I suffered very badly with PND after our first child was born. We had only been together a matter of weeks when I got pregnant so the whole thing was pretty stressful. I moved back in with my parents when DS was 9 months and DP raised him until I was strong enough to help. He came round every couple of days, usually with flowers, and as I gradually started to improve he started taking me out and ‘dating’ me again. We were only 21 and 24.

I've had a crap day, will keep grumpy mood to myself, legger!

One of the best things is that he 'knows' my pre-PMT symptoms (about 2 days before I get full blown pmt) and stocks house full of paracetamol/ biscuits/ tampons and makes sure favourite PJ's/ jogging bottoms are clean and washed. Proper heroic in my eyes!
