People camping outside the Lindo wing

AIBU to find this quite a weird thing to do? As far as I know, the due date of the Cambridge’s third child hasn’t been released. So the people camping (in the rain) might be there for weeks, in the hope of getting a glimpse of the Duchess of Cambridge and her third child.

Anyone who camps or queue to see celebs are wierd agree op.

For a childbirth it’s suoer super iki

TeenTimesTwo · 15/04/2018 21:39

It is harmless enough though, like train spotting, or playing Warhammer.
I wouldn't do either of those either.

covetingthepreciousthings · 15/04/2018 21:39

It's not just weird, it's extremely intrusive I think. I feel sorry for Kate, it's such a stressful time for any mum to be, let alone having to deal with things like this on top. Sad

NotTakenUsername · 15/04/2018 21:41

Agree it’s harmless. Horses for courses.

NapQueen · 15/04/2018 21:41

Im assuming Kate wont even see them til afterwards. Therell be some sort of secret tunnel from the Harrods cafe fridge to the ward which will be a mile back from the main entrance they are stationed at.

snowballsandsunshine · 15/04/2018 21:42

Wasn't it reported (obviously no one knows how true it is) that she wanted a home birth this time anyway? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

It is weird OP, and intrusive. I didn't even want my mother to know/be at the hospital when I went into labour, I can't imagine what it must be like to have all those people and the press there.

NeverTwerkNaked · 15/04/2018 21:43

Utterly ridiculous behaviour. I struggle to understand why anyone would do this (unless they are a journalist I guess!)

NapQueen · 15/04/2018 21:46

Unless theyve been tipped off that shes in there....

WipsGlitter · 15/04/2018 21:46

Very odd. Considering there's probably about three weeks in which she could give birth.

Hope she goes into labour about 1am and we can all just wake up to the news without the endless media sideshow.

MrsPreston11 · 15/04/2018 21:47

Losers. But they’re not hurting anyone.

If I was Kate I’d get a room of my home turned into a lush birth centre type thing.

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 15/04/2018 21:49

It’s probably annoying for the patients and families who use the hospital, so not harmless at all.

DairyisClosed · 15/04/2018 21:49

It makes me feel really sorry for the parents.

AvoidingDM · 15/04/2018 21:50

Bonkers.
Am I the only person who wonders who has annual leave to waste waiting on a glimpse of a baby?

WipsGlitter · 15/04/2018 21:51

Maybe they don't work?

I remember the last time and some random couple came out first!

Bluntness100 · 15/04/2018 21:53

Are they really? God that's awful, and so intrusive.

Wowzel · 15/04/2018 21:53

It's infuriating. The ambulances find it hard to get in and out as there are people stood on the entrance the the ambulance ramp

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2018 21:54

Very odd. In a few more weeks they will be in Windsor for the wedding no doubt.

JennyOnAPlate · 15/04/2018 21:54

I think the police should be able to move them on actually. Ridiculous behaviour.

Crispbutty · 15/04/2018 21:55

I can understand the press doing it. Probably mega bucks for whoever gets the first photo. As for anyone else, that’s just weird and obsessive.

expatinscotland · 15/04/2018 21:55

Wow! They'll clear rough sleepers off in advance of Harry's wedding but not these weirdos. Says it all.

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2018 21:57

Hopefully it will all be a bluff and she'll have the baby at home.

PenCreed · 15/04/2018 21:57

I recognised one of the ones on the news - a guy I've met briefly, who considers himself a Diana super-fan (he went to every day of the inquest). He's weird and annoying, but harmless. It's ridiculous though, and if they're in the way of staff and passers-by, they should get moved on.

Viviennemary · 15/04/2018 21:57

I don't think this kind of nonsense should be allowed. the police should move them on. Nothing to see here. What idiots.

Sunafterstorm · 15/04/2018 21:58

Whatever boats your float I suppose.
The press barriers are there til 30th April allegedly, so they could be there a while.

Backingvocals · 15/04/2018 21:59

We live close by. Last time we were approached by one of these people bedecked all in union jacks wanting to talk to us all about his fandom. It wasn’t so much about Kate and the baby but the fact that he was a super fan and had been in the papers etc. Very much a weirdo.

I think they are mostly oddballs. It’s also extremely intrusive. But I guess if you are a weirdo you don’t know that.
