I know we are all supposed to bow down and love them and admire their seemingly perfect lives but my word I’m sick to my god damn teeth of them.

Especially Emily Norris, Rebecca Meldrum, Then new ones like The Perks Of Being A Mother, Sammybird, Mylifeandkids.

Just put the camera down and live your life!!!!

Why bother watching them then?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 13/04/2018 09:42

If you stop watching them you’ll realise that most people also don’t, and it really doesn’t affect you if the vloggers vlog or not. I personally do watch them (although not Mrs Meldrum, I find her very irritating, so guess what?? I don’t watch her Shock)

Live and let live and all that!

Katyb1310 · 13/04/2018 09:42

Just don't watch them if it bothers you that much?

Helloworld90 · 13/04/2018 09:43

I have stopped watching now. I’m just sick of them encroaching into mainstream now on adverts and all over Facebook!

No this isn’t jealousy I have a brilliant life before anyone says.

OP posts:
theymademejoin · 13/04/2018 09:45

I've never heard of any of them. Never watched any of them.

They only do it because people watch them. If you don't like them, don't watch them

CaptainHammer · 13/04/2018 09:48

YouTube and vlogging is a massive thing now so they are going to show up more on adverts etc.

On Facebook click the bit that’s says you’re not interested and the adverts will change. You’ll probably find you’ll get less ads for them soon now that you’ve stopped watching them anyway.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 13/04/2018 09:49

Hate is a strong emotion! I have no doubt they're annoying which is one reason I'd never watch their vlogs, I don't understand why anyone who finds them so irritating would watch them!

Mightymucks · 13/04/2018 09:49

I know a Mummy vlogger. She had a story in a national newspaper recently. She is very pleasant and I enjoy seeing her socially and her kids are nice too.

In her vlogs she is as annoying as hell and her kids seem awful. It makes my teeth itch and makes me feel punchy.

So I no longer watch and just see her in real life as she is a pleasure. But something about vlogging does seem to make people incredibly irritating on screen.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 13/04/2018 09:49

No this isn’t jealousy I have a brilliant life before anyone says.

Then let them get on with vlogging about theirs.

NathusiusPip · 13/04/2018 09:50

You are hilariously unreasonable - don't watch them if you don't like them, and then they'll stop coming up on your feed and adverts!! Grin

I have never watched a 'mummy vlogger', read a 'mummy blog' (the very name is a bit nauseating, frankly) or have the faintest idea who those people are. Correspondingly, I have never seen any advert or anything else about them. You have created your own infuriating issue! Grin

ginandnappies · 13/04/2018 09:52

Oh for goodness sake. Stop watching if they annoy you. No one is forcing you!! Why is Mumsnet turning into a horrible place of tearing each other down?! Get a grip of yourself

CadyHeron · 13/04/2018 09:54

What captainhammer said. Seriously don't get the mindset of obsessively watching something you hate. There's other stuff out there more to your taste. Plenty of others do like.

leccybill · 13/04/2018 09:55

Literally never heard of any of them. Why would you waste your time - what's to gain?

BasilThirty · 13/04/2018 10:00

I think Emily Norris and the meldrums are alright actually.
They've worked hard to make youtube their full time paying job- so yes they're holding a camera a lot but I imagine it's less than an eight hour day plus commute time if they had a 'regular' job. So they're around their kids a lot more and do something they enjoy whilst 'living their life' more than the average person- why would that bother you in any way?

InspMorse · 13/04/2018 10:00

Another one here - never heard of them.
As for I have stopped watching now. I’m just sick of them encroaching into mainstream now on adverts and all over Facebook!
You only see these adverts online & on FB because you watch them !
I never get adverts like that! (Mine reflect my browsing history so are mainly adverts for food...)

CadyHeron · 13/04/2018 10:01

Ok, I see you've stopped watching already. So what's the problem then? Hide them if they keep popping up on FB.
Another one who's fed up of all the tearing down.

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 13/04/2018 10:02

I don't think it's them that needs to put down the camera to be honest I think it's you who needs to step away from the computer! No one forces you to watch them (I have no interest in mummy bloggers so I don't bloody well watch them, it's not complicated)
Also you get that they are real people right? I know personally one of the people you've mentioned (don't watch her online stuff) and she is as sweet, kind and generous a person as you could imagine and not remotely annoying.

Take responsibility of your own media consumption instead of bashing women trying to make an independent living for themselves with small children to care for and a society and economy which makes being a working mother extremely hard.

MarshaBradyo · 13/04/2018 10:03

I coukd never spend time watching vloggers

Look at some other stuff and your feed will change

thecatsarecrazy · 13/04/2018 10:04

I don't get vlogging at all. Who gives a monkeys about what some random family is up 2. I watched one last night on youtube after searching baby failed newborn hearing test. After going through it twice. A family were taking their son for an abr as he failed newborn in 1 ear. They were all smiles and oh i don't care what the result is we love him yadda yadda. He turned out to be fine. Great news for them but i didn't find it true to life at all. It was an awful time for me.

AjasLipstick · 13/04/2018 10:04

For someone who hates them, you seem to know a LOT of them! I couldn't name one!

Stop watching them.

Runningbutnotscared · 13/04/2018 10:06

I have never watched a vlogger, they are really not difficult to avoid OP.

I couldn’t name one if my life depended on it.

You seem way too involved. Maybe a hobby might suit you? Something non-computer/iPad/ phone based?

Helloworld90 · 13/04/2018 10:08

I used to watch them because I was ill and bed bound and had nothing better to do and they were suggested to me but as I’ve said I don’t anymore.

OP posts:
Helloworld90 · 13/04/2018 10:09

Exactly thecatsarecrazy they don’t portray real life at all. Some do more than others but the majority are so fake.

FloydOnThePull · 13/04/2018 10:11

Why do you watch them? This is a genuine question.

I'm currently pregnant with my first and the only one you've mentioned that I've come across is Emily Norris and that's because something has popped into my head to do with taking care of a newborn and as I have zero experience with looking after children I'll have a look in a book, google it, look on you tube, ask a friend or family member etc. Generally I've found her videos on these things very useful and I like how she explains things. Beyond that I'm not interested in how she lives her life so I don't bother watching any lifestyle tips or anything else she vlogs about but I can appreciate that some people will be interested in watching these videos and have no interest in how to breastfeed a child.

Maybe have a think about why you're watching in the first place and if the answer is 'so I can roll my eyes and call that person a twat under my breath' then switch off and go outside and enjoy the beauty of a squirrel jumping through trees or the first daffodils of spring.

Shimshiminysheroo · 13/04/2018 10:12

Is this some weird marketing to get people to watch this drivel?
