DH and I have been TTC for 18 months now and I've had two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy :( I know this isn't the place to ask but I tried in Conception a few days ago, didn't get many replies and now my situation has become even more confusing!

So this month we DTD on CD16 and 17 and I think I ovulated on CD18. My cycle is normally around 30 days, but on Monday, which was CD26, I had a little bit of brown spotting when I got up in the morning, then nothing all day. The same thing has happened every day since - a tiny bit in the morning, then nothing. I don't understand what's going on :( could this be implantation bleeding? I thought it was only meant to last 2 days max, but if this is my period, I don't understand why it's not getting heavier. Any advice or anyone who has had a similar experience would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

I don't want to be cruel but after my 3rd (of 5) miscarriage I went through a stage of spotting for a week before my period every month due to my cycle going funky. My 4th reset me again and the 5th I had an ERPC and seemed to fix the problem - I'm now nearly 18 weeks pregnant.

I'm not saying it's not implantation bleeding but ime it's your cycle being a twat

So sorry for your losses and I hope you get your bfp soon Flowers

NotAnotherUserName5 · 05/04/2018 10:03

Sorry about your losses Flowers

Obvious question, but have you done a pregnancy test?

Also, have you been to the doctors? I'm wondering if they could check your hormones. Mine went out of whack for a while and my periods were acting odd.

Also, are you up to date on smears?

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 10:04

Thank you @Namechangedtoscream, it could well be that. My chemical was in January, so not very long ago really. I'm sorry you had so many losses Flowers congrats on your pregnancy!

I haven't done a pregnancy test as I have made a pact with myself not to test until my period is late, after getting into an awful cycle of repeatedly testing last year. And I guess I'm not up to date on smears :(

I haven't been to the doctors lately but I did go after the first two miscarriages and everything was tested and came back normal.

Might be worth a trip back to the GP as spotting before a period can be linked to low (I think) progesterone so yes your hormones may have been fine back then but the latest loss may have changed things

pepsirolla · 05/04/2018 10:09

I had this it was a brown spotting with slight cramps pain. I rushed to doctors in panic and he told me it was implantation bleeding as the foetus beds in. It lasted a couple of days then stopped. The rest of my pregnancy was normal apart from constantly feeling sick but I found that reassuringConfused Best to get checked by doctor though. Hope all goes well best wishes FlowersFlowers

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 10:10

Thanks, that may be a good idea then @Namechangedtoscream. And thank you too @NotAnotherUserName5 for replying. I guess having miscarriages can interfere with your hormone levels right?

Anyone else's input would also be greatly appreciated Smile

Thank you @pepsirolla. I had slight cramps on Monday when the spotting started, but nothing since.

It's definitely worth going back to the doctors.
The consultant told me tests can show different things at different stages of your cycle after I lost my baby. So you may not have got three full picture with your results back then.

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 10:13

I did have tests at different points in my cycle- I think the testing was pretty thorough. However, things may well have changed since then.

I have also been feeling quite nauseous and lost my appetite. Boobs don't seem very sore though and I am peeing a little more than usual but not abnormally so. Maybe it's all in my head :(

Yes, definitely can mess up you ur cycle and hormones. Mine went really heavy. Insanely so.

Things can change like you say. I would see if they can look again.

Fingers crossed for you. Could still be this month Flowers

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 10:22

Thank you @NotAnotherUserName5 Flowers

It could well be implantation bleeding. Good luck!

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 05/04/2018 11:03

That sounds like my implantation bleeding. I don't want to get your hopes up that's just how mine went. I actually thought I was getting my period but when it didn't get heavier then stopped I waited about a week then did a test which was positive.

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 12:32

Thank you @nicelyneurotic and @SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace! It's now dinner time here (not in UK) and I am just not hungry at all despite having done loads of walking today and not having a massive lunch. This is another confusing thing because normally when my period is due on want to eat ALL THE THINGS Grin i just don't know what's happening at all! Do you think I should do a test?

OP posts:
HulaMelody · 05/04/2018 12:40

I think you should teat otherwise you’ll drive yourself mad wondering.
My first pregnancy, I had a tiny bit of implantation bleeding.
When I was TTC (long term) my cycle went weird and I had a lot of spotting between ovulation and period. However this was accompanied by cramping and a heavy feeling in my stomach so it felt iffy. Dr Google identified low progesterone. Your symptoms wouldn’t really suggest this.

HulaMelody · 05/04/2018 12:40

I meant test not teat

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 12:45

I think you're right @HulaMelody. Unfortunately we are on holiday at the moment, going home on Saturday so I think I'll leave it until then to test rather than trying to buy a test here. At least the extra couple of days might make it clearer!

You have described my experience of implantation bleeding. However we are all so varied. Wait to see if you are pregnant and if not see what next months is like.

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 13:19

Just ate about half a portion of Greek salad for dinner. Now feeling full and vaguely nauseous again. No spotting at all since this morning at around 11am, it's now nearly 8.30pm. Really confused!

OP posts:
Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 16:07

Still not a sign of any spotting at all now Confused anyone else experienced this and has advice or stories to share?

OP posts:
gg5891 · 05/04/2018 16:14

I'm sorry about your losses.
I had an ectopic pregnancy last July, had to have surgery to remove tube and baby. The doctors told me not to expect cycles to make any sense for at least 6 months whilst your body sorts itself out.
I'm now almost 33 weeks pregnant and had very minor implantation bleeding that only lasted about a day.
Best thing to do would be to test or you'll get stressed worrying about it which if you are early stages won't help you.
Good luck x

Secretlifeofme · 05/04/2018 16:19

Thanks @gg5891. Sorry about your ectopic and congrats on your pregnancy! This is why I'm confused - because if it is implantation bleeding, why is it going on so long? But if it's my period, why isn't it getting steadily heavier? Confused
