Alternatives to E45 moisturizer

I seem to have developed an allergic reaction to E45 cream after using it with a steroid cream, as suggested by my GP for a skin problem. The skin problem has gone and I've stopped using the steroid, but my skin is very dry so I kept on with the E45, however now it's stinging and a bit itchy when I use it.

Anyone got any good ideas for an alternative? I wondered about almond oil but would prefer a cream?

I know this was a few months ago and you probably have found an alternative, how did it go with Aveeno? I was going to try that until I saw it was made by Johnson and Johnson who still test on animals. I wanted to let you know it's not uncommon to develop an allergy to the ingredients of E45. It is paraffin based which can be carcinogenic, toxic and highly flammable and has caused deaths. My Mum used to smother me in liquid paraffin as a kid due to eczema and we lived abroad and it blistered badly. It also contains lanolin these days which is a common allergen. I'm going to try a brand called Beyond Organic Skin cream, made in Cornwall, and I'll also try virgin coconut oil too and look into ways of making a cream or lotion at home that's not as greasy. As I'm making a big change, I might as well try to be ethical too. There is also a new lotion by Body Shop although they put too many fragrances in. L'Oréal sold Body Shop to a company that are more ethical too.

Diprobase and Aveeno are both great.

I have been recommended Lush Dream cream loads of times by well meaning people, and see it has been on here too.
One thing to keep in mind though is that it has a preservative in called parabens which can be a well known skin irritant (allergic and can't use here!)
