To ask for ways to make taking a shower more fun?

So my shower is around 15min, bloody boring, shampoo, conditioner, scrub etc etc, and I don't like taking a shower at all, but have to do it every day, obviously. It is especially difficult after gym, when I am tired.

Does anyone do anything to make the shower time more entertaining? Something to look forward to rather than a stupid chore?

Masturbation.

MamosianAntiMatterChopsticks · 03/04/2018 21:58

Have a bonk? Hmm

Don't know what else to suggest really. I wasn't aware showers were supposed to be entertaining tbh Confused

YouTheCat · 03/04/2018 21:59

15 minutes? I have really long hair that needs conditioning and can shower in 5.

SequinsOnEverything · 03/04/2018 21:59

15 minutes?! What do you do in there?

SShaming · 03/04/2018 21:59

Weird AIBU.

Speedy85 · 03/04/2018 21:59

Shower radio?

Voice0fReason · 03/04/2018 21:59

Listen to an audiobook

SneakyGremlins · 03/04/2018 22:00

Invite someone to join you?

Bambamber · 03/04/2018 22:00

Have a shorter shower

Nicknacky · 03/04/2018 22:00

What are you doing in a shower that takes so long that you have time to get bored?

Dafspunk · 03/04/2018 22:01

Wireless speaker - crank up the tunes.

LemonadeWithACherry · 03/04/2018 22:02

You could get a wireless shower speaker and listen to music or podcasts?

I like to pass shower time thinking about my fantasy life as a 90s rock star and cultural icon. I often give interviews while drying my hair. Grin

Achoopichu · 03/04/2018 22:02

Don’t use a scrub - go green and use a scrunchy or similar - - you can be in and out in 5

AnaViaSalamanca · 03/04/2018 22:03

Honestly, I am not sure, I probably have to make it faster you are right. I just kind of stand under the hot water for a while. But then shampoo, condition, shave, face wash, face scrub, body scrub, body wash. I can now see not many people do this.

Sorry I am probably sounding weird...

Thanks for the speaker, that is a brilliant idea!

Scrub & wash? That's wasteful. Get a scrubby Japanese cloth & use gel/wash & get out of there quicker!

It’s ok, you don’t sound weird. But it’s the sort of question to ask yourself rather than us- as surely you can work it out?
Or be radical and have a bath instead - I hate showers. In a bath you can soak in a lovely bath oil or aromatherapy, read a book AND drink wine. Far better.

halfwitpicker · 03/04/2018 22:07

First poster had it really.

Next!

MrsPreston11 · 03/04/2018 22:09

Turn the shower head to a higher pressure when rinsing your bits.

Then you’ll really look forward to your shower!

Idontwanttoknow · 03/04/2018 22:10

I do:
Under the water for a few seconds
Shampoo
Shave pits
Rinse rest of shampoo
Conditioner
Wash body (soap and puff)
Rinse conditioner
Out
5 minutes max. Can easily do it in 3
My shower is quite powerful though

ShweShwe · 03/04/2018 22:14

Take a book in with you. Or your phone.
Smear the shower tray with cooking oil.
Shart yourself.
Use Nair instead of conditioner.

Any/all of these things will give you something real to worry about shower-wise.

AnathemaPulsifer · 03/04/2018 22:17

Washing and scrubbing your face in the shower is a horrendous waste of water.

Etymology23 · 03/04/2018 22:18

Don’t shave daily? Don’t exfoliate daily?

You could reorder to speed up as well: water, shampoo, face scrub while shampoo sits for a few seconds, wash both off, conditioner on, all other parts washed, conditioner off, get out shower. That way all the time consuming sitting conditioning parts happen while you do something else.

(I mean I also just stand and think but I find thinking quite interesting, or if not interesting useful - to plan dinner or what I need from the shops or think what admin needs doing.)

elQuintoConyo · 03/04/2018 22:21
  1. I shave once a week on swimming day.
  1. I use soap because it is cleaner. Takes 30 seconds, if that. Lather up, wash off.
  1. No body scrub, drying with a towel is exfoliating enough.
  1. I don't leave conditioner on for any length of time. Conditioner on, conditioner out.

It is a mundane task, but doesn't take long. Sing something. Listen to something. Finish with cold water. Conjugate French verbs. Imagine what you'd do with a big lottery win. And as pp have mentioned: wankorama!
