Thorntons Easter egg 🤢

DH is lovely and has given me an Easter egg. Milk chocolate Thorntons one.

It tastes like cooking chocolate 😭🤢

Is it just me? Anyone else found the same?

WIBU to write to Thorntons and ask what's going on?

Thornton's chocolate is rank! Do you usually like it? Perhaps they've had a recipe change? Go out and find yourself a nice Lindt egg instead

I sent back two White chocolate snowmen that tasted of plastic.

I find Thornton’s chocolate really waxy tasting. They look pretty but that’s about it.

how did you send back the snowmen notso? do you mean you went into the shops and told them the chocolate was awful??

There was a long thread a few days ago by a lady who was upset that Thornton’s had run out of egg. Eleventybillion people piled in to tell her that they were horrible now.

I really am not keen on Thorntons chocolate. (I also can't stand hotel chocolat chicolate! But can't tell DH as he buys it for me all the time!

I believe Thorntons like most of the other manufacturers was bought out. Ufortunately they, like Cadburys and Terry's and Rowntrees (nestle) now taste rank.

I actually thought Galaxy was still the same but their egg was awful too, so I guess the chocolate used to make the eggs is probably the poorest quality.

Haven't had an egg but exh still despite multiple hints takes the kids to Thornton for ALL of my presents. I'm resorting to dropping hints to child #1 now pre shopping trip

My kids have one each. We had 2 Cadbury twirls. Not sure what is worse!

Thorntons has been crap for years now. Tastes just oily and of nothing. I ended up stopping buying them even though we always used to get various Christmas shapes as a tradition.

Do you think they might head where others have already gone? I'm thinking to the same place as 'Toys r us', 'Woolworths' .. etc

Thornton's chocolate is dreadful (although it looks great) they should stick to making toffee!!

@INeedChocolateToday there was a thread a couple of weeks ago talking about all the shops people could see closing.

Thorntons as named quite a few times as their stuff is 1) rubbish tasting and 2) sold in supermarkets so the need for the shops might disappear.

Get yourself some Hotel Chocolat or Lindt chocolate when shops open again.

Our local Thorntons has closed. I bought a box in the sale for nostalgia and it's just rank.

Oh I love Thornton’s, it really stands me well on the days I don’t want to eat candle wax.

It’s utter crap and has been for a decade or more.

I have had one of those Monty Bojangles eggs. With the truffles.

The truffles are awesome but the egg is like an afterthought. Awful!

I only go to Thornton’s on the rare occasion for their chocolate ginger. I dislike Hotel Chocolate, it’s very hit n miss in my opinion. I thought Godiva ( boxed chocolates) was good until they released chocolate bars in Sainsbury’s. Lindt extra creamy is my favourite at the moment. When I want high quality chocolate, I find somewhere that sells home made chocolate truffles.

I never eat milk chocolate. DH has never seen me eat anything other than very high cocoa content dark chocolate. He bought me a Cadbury's Creme Egg Easter Egg .

The DC got some Thornton’s snowmen for Christmas the year before last. They didn’t even taste of chocolate.
Green and Blacks is my favourite at the moment.
