I'm hooked, almost obsessed and am in season 3 (so no spoilers please). Did anyone watch it? AIBU to think it's one of the best TV series ever made?

Yep I watched them all in one go a few months ago and I loved it. I think there is going to be a season 4 too! Come back when you’ve finished 3 so we can discuss

OhHolyJesus · 28/03/2018 12:53

Ditto
New series out this year.
Watched it on NOW tv before my subscription ran out x

MuckySockSyndrome · 28/03/2018 12:54

I love Helen, she's hilarious! Noah pisses me right off but I'm starting to fancy him a bit since he went all "bad boy" on us!

I got addicted to this when I kicked my ExH out for having an affair! It was painful to watch but also validated a lot of my feelings...

OuchLegoHurts · 28/03/2018 12:57

I loved it so much!

MuckySockSyndrome · 28/03/2018 12:58

PurpleLass, I must admit, I did think to myself last night how difficult it must be to watch if you've been the victim of an affair, especially season 1.

Can I just ask, the more aggressive sex scenes (the ones that spring to mind are Alison and the tree at the retreat and Helen and Noah in season 3, are they rape? They make me feel uncomfortable but I can't figure out if it's just rough sex or actual rape?

KC225 · 28/03/2018 19:40

I started to watch but I have to admit but the start of season two all the sex got on my nerves. I was a bit yeah, sexually chemistry I get it but get on with the story.

SpringNowPlease2018 · 28/03/2018 19:42

I thought season 1 was good, then it got quite boring. They should have kept it as a one off.

SpringNowPlease2018 · 28/03/2018 19:44

oh I definitely think they're heading for a rape storyline - presumably next Noah will go to jail for rape - and he should.

I also thought there was a very odd scene in ep1 with Alison and her husband and wasn't sure how to interpret it.

I mainly kept watching for the scenery, incredible locations.

TidyDancer · 28/03/2018 19:48

The tree sex scene is addressed in series 3 - not sure which episode so you may not have got there yet. IIRC Noah says it wasn't, but others speculate it was. I won't say anything else due to spoilers!

I personally loved series 1 the most, series 2 and 3 weren't as good but still really watchable. The French lady storyline in 3 was so out of place. Looking forward to series 4!

saf1ya5 · 28/03/2018 19:48

Yes I binge watched that one on Netflix one weekend when DH took the kids camping. Loved it! I don't remember any rough sex scenes though or anything bordering on rape?

You might also like Bloodlines on Netflix and another one called Tyrant. Actually there loads - just need more time!

TidyDancer · 28/03/2018 19:49

@SpringNowPlease2018 do you mean the scene where they had sex against the car? I always wondered about that. That was in Noah's flashback, can't remember what Alison's take on it was.

VelvetKitty · 28/03/2018 19:51

Loved series 1 and 2 but felt like series 3 went a bit weird and I lost interest slightly although still watched it all! Agree some of the forceful sex scenes are uncomfortable to watch.

SpringNowPlease2018 · 28/03/2018 19:53

OP "The tree sex scene"

that sounds like something Miranda would make a joke about Grin

yes, I think I do mean by the car - both Noah and Alison's memory of it was horrendous and I thought it was meant to set the scene for the JJ character to be a really evil person.

TempusFugitive · 28/03/2018 19:54

I liked the first one and maybe the second too. The idea of them both remembering events in a way that exonerated their own self from blame was potentially really clever but I don't think it was done quite as well as it could have been.

I liked the way NOah's wife's family controlled her with money. I could related to his wife's relationship with her mother a bit.

DSHathawaysLover · 28/03/2018 21:40

Brilliant series, can't wait for Season 4. YABU for fancying Noah, however. Hubby and I joke that he's Simon from Corrie in 35 years' time 😂

xoxoxoxoluv · 28/03/2018 21:43

Season 4 airs in the U.S Sunday 17th June 😀

Patsypedalo · 28/03/2018 21:53

Loved this series 1 and 2, then lost sympathy with virtually all the characters in series 3. Can't say I'm wondering how they're getting on and dying for a new series (like I was after 1 and 2)

PavlovianLunge · 28/03/2018 21:55

I was gripped by the first series, but by the third, I was watching out of grim determination to see the whole thing out, rather than for the pleasure of watching it, if that makes sense.

I’ll watch series 4, but surely it can’t go on much longer, can it?

Fintress · 28/03/2018 21:56

Ooh can't wait!! I loved it. I find Noah distinctly unattractive though ugh.

Pavlov - my feelings exactly

Queenofwands · 28/03/2018 21:58

Me and my other half were hooked .... brilliant 1 and 2 but 3 was weaker ( French shite) I loved the teenage daughter and the wife from ER. Hard to believe the two main characters are English. Cole came out best I thought.

DJLippy · 28/03/2018 22:02

TidyDancer - agreed about the french woman storyline, it was like they were trying to fill out the series

Re tree sex scene - I love the ambiguity, it's very realistic and uncomfortable but I some rape is sort of borderline...

Me and my mate obsessed with this show but nobody else watched it's v frustrating when you wanna talk about it.
