To expect people to remove make up before swimming

Everytime I take DD swimming there are at least 3 different women ending up with panda eyes because they got in the pool with a full face of make up- just take it off please

Yanbu

Ohyesiam · 26/03/2018 23:31

Are you pandaphobicGrin

PorkFlute · 26/03/2018 23:32

Yanbu but I have ended up with panda eyes even after taking mine off. Chlorinated water seems to be much more effective at stripping the lot than eye make up remover!

FranticallyPeaceful · 26/03/2018 23:33

Yanbu. Just use makeup wipes or don’t apply makeup that day

Madcatter · 26/03/2018 23:36

Does it affect you? The water's chlorinated so it's clean. And if you don't trust the capacity of chlorine to keep the water clean then makeup is the least of your worries. Grin

brownelephant · 26/03/2018 23:39

yes it does effect me.
chlorine kills bacteria. that's it.
it doesn't filter the water of the oily film from the make up and it doesn't remove colour pigment and hair and other particles.

not showering with soap before getting into the pool is rank.

DryHeave · 26/03/2018 23:40

YABU for inventing another stick to bash women with.

ZacharyQuack · 26/03/2018 23:41

Well you're not being unreasonable, but makeup is just the thing that you can see. People also have sun cream, body lotion, face products, hair products, deodorant, perfume, sweat, smelly feet and bum residue all washing around in the pool water.

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 26/03/2018 23:41

Another stick to bash women with??!!
Really?

OP posts:
FranticallyPeaceful · 26/03/2018 23:42

@DryHeave YABU to assume only women can wear makeup

Oh wait that’s as ridiculous as what you just said

ToothyMcPuthy · 26/03/2018 23:42

There are more bothersome things than mascara deposited into most public swimming pools Envy (not envy).

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 26/03/2018 23:43

ZacharyQuack
Well, people could always take a shower before swimming.........

OP posts:
paxillin · 26/03/2018 23:46

There is a lot worse than mascara in that top layer in the pool..

Sallystyle · 26/03/2018 23:47

I wouldn't take my makeup off before swimming.

I do go through the shower but I don't take my makeup off with water.

fascinated · 26/03/2018 23:49

You lot scoffing are mingers

Two wrongs don’t make a right

(Shakes head)

PinotMwah · 26/03/2018 23:54

God life is just too short to worry about stuff like this.

Serena1985 · 26/03/2018 23:57

Bum residue 😐

Nickynackynoodle · 26/03/2018 23:58

I get pissed off with makeup on clothes that I’m trying on. FFS.
I got a pair of chinos home last week & there was foundation on them. Wtf?

whywhywhywhywhyyy · 26/03/2018 23:59

I'm more worried about the people having a wee in the pool tbh

FranticallyPeaceful · 27/03/2018 00:00

@Serena1985

Bum residue 😐 “

Lol Grin

But also willy and foofoo discharge 🤢

HuskyMcClusky · 27/03/2018 00:01

Umm, in the grand scheme of gross things in a public pool...mascara? Really??

flowerslemonade · 27/03/2018 00:03

If I took make-up off I think there'd be more product/oil than there would've been make-up in the pool

TeddyIsaHe · 27/03/2018 00:05

Oh fgs I’ve never even given a second thought to what is in a swimming pool and now I can never go in one again because bum residue 🤢

RachelTeeth · 27/03/2018 00:09

Put goggles on and swim along the floor of the pool, you’ll see plasters, pieces of shit, hair, pubes, then watch people surfacing and gobbing out water and spit, ear wax, piss, genital secretions, period blood, incontinent babies, germs and viruses, warts and veruccas all floating about in a rancid cocktail at the perfect temperature for bacteria to thrive, so a load of bleach is thrown in too. I wouldn’t go in a pool for cash.

RachelTeeth · 27/03/2018 00:10

(The people gobbing out phlegm are presumably not hacking out incontinent babies etc as well. Just to clarify.)
