Differences between dating French men and British men

This is such a random AIBU, but would be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

If you’ve ever dated a French man before, what would you say are the main differences between dating a French man and British men in your experience?

OP posts:
Huntinginthedark · 24/03/2018 00:31

The Frenchman I dated for a while always wore a beret, stripey top and a string of onions
So it was a little inconvenient at times
Other than that, I think they’re mostly the same

StripySocksAndDocs · 24/03/2018 00:32

Their first language.

WorraLiberty · 24/03/2018 00:48

One wore a beret at all times

The other wore a flat cap

SandAndSea · 24/03/2018 00:56

"J'arrive!"

I'm a bit rusty but I think that's how you spell it. If you're literal like me, it takes a bit of getting used to.

I have a French husband but I don't believe they are all identical. Confused

He is very good at cooking, he speaks with a French accent, he always returns to France for any healthcare believing the NHS isn't as good (he is right), says je t'aime a lot. Any particular differences you are seeking?

Creambun2 · 24/03/2018 01:34

French men often have a flatulence problem.

vodkaredbullgirl · 24/03/2018 02:11

was on holiday when i was about 17 i had sex with a french man, couldnt speak the language but the sex was great lol. Was funny when i could understand the cows in the background more than him.

JaneJeffer · 24/03/2018 02:38

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/5277090.stm vodka did you know that cows also have accents? Grin

vodkaredbullgirl · 24/03/2018 02:42

mooo is mooo in any language lol

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 24/03/2018 02:47

Dated a french man in my twenties. Loved it when he spoke to me in french in the sack

Once I asked my dp to do it. But he's from Bradford so a large northern man grunting "uh bonjour Madame ou est la gare " didn't really do it for me.

penguinsandpanda · 24/03/2018 03:28

www.answers.com/Q/What_does_a_cow_say_in_French its not just moo everywhere 😉

Booboostwo · 24/03/2018 04:01

DD was taught at nursery that cows say meuh not moo, so French cows do it differently.

ohamIreally · 24/03/2018 04:41

Czech cows say boo.

ShackUp · 24/03/2018 05:00

Don't French cows say 'meurgh'?

ForalltheSaints · 24/03/2018 06:16

I am a man, so cannot speak from experience. Surely the main difference other than language would be that most French men have some sense of style and most British men do not?

StripySocksAndDocs · 24/03/2018 06:45

It's the beret ForalltheSaints. Adds a certain je ne sais quoi; which is inevitable I suppose.

Clandestino · 24/03/2018 06:51

@thatmustbenigelwiththebrie may I say je t'aime! In a very tabletty apple accent!

Clandestino · 24/03/2018 07:02

Czech cows say boo.

Only if they are wooed booed by males in sandals and white socks.

Booboostwo · 24/03/2018 08:00

We're the the south shackup, maybe the posh ones up north say meurgh

StripySocksAndDocs · 24/03/2018 08:15

Cows say something like 'muh' in Denmark. Quite devil may care sounding really; probably because they are a lower risk group than Danish pigs.

StripySocksAndDocs · 24/03/2018 08:16

(French pigs say groin-groin apparently. )

demirose87 · 24/03/2018 08:19

There will be differences to British men. I have not dated French but have experience of an Italian man, and we were not compatible. I found him rude but I suspect it was just down to cultural differences.
