I bought some Rocket Dog boots from Amazon in November. I have worn them quite a lot, but not in the rain or snow. This is what they look like now. So AIBU to expect boots to last longer? And what can I do? Rocket Dog say that as they were bought from a third party they can't help. (But their boots are normally made to last a lifetime!) What brand boots do you recommend?

I have Timberlands & Uggs that I've worn alternately all winter for the last 3 years so could definitely recommend them.

They look brown to me. And the op states not worn in the rain or snow.

My leather Kurt Geiger riding boots were pretty bomb-proof this winter.

Have a look at Camper. There are some weird and wonderful boots on there and they are really made to last.

oh I read it that she had recently worn them in different weather conditions and now they were damaged.

They are brown suede. Thanks for the Timberland and Uggs advice. I find it tricky to find good boots because of my overly ample calves. Sigh.

DD had some Rocket Dog shoes which were the cheapest crappiest pair of tat I’ve ever bought. Not a brand I’d rely on.

Where did you get them? I had some rocket dogs from amazon that fell apart and they replaced them free of charge. The second pair have been worn a lot this winter but aren’t going to last much longer. Thinking of going back to DMs - had a pair of those that lasted over 10 years!

Rocket dogs are rubbish and fall apart. I doubt they are real leather? You can't really expect anything to last if it's not leather.

You could chance an email to Amazon. They are usually really good about refunds.

I have some rocket dog Chelsea boots that I have worn to death over the winter and they still look great.
Looks like bad luck with that particular pair OP. It is shit that rocket dog won’t do anything because they were bought through amazon, surely it’s thier product therefore their problem if they fall apart?

My rocket dog boots weren't suede - are you sure Todd are? They look the same as mine.

Just return them to the seller under their guarantee. Goods have to be fit for purpose and 4 months for boots is not fit for purpose, they should last longer than that. Say you want to return them due to them being faulty. They will give you some twaddle about 28 day returns but that is if you change your mind, not for defects.

I didn't know Rocket Dog are made from real leather or suede, all I've seen so far were man made materials.
I have two pairs and I've worn them extensively. Both still look rather good even though the pair from the softer material shows more signs of wear and tear. Still definitely not like on the picture and I was wearing them for long walks during the Beast from the East catastrophe when we couldn't use the car.

They probably are synthetic suedey type material, rather than real suede. Now I think about it, the suede like material started to rub off on the toes a few weeks in (but I was scuffing them on the carpet kneeling down talking to children) I will know to steer clear of them in the future, and go for real leather and a good brand! They were very comfortable while they lasted!

Ska - they aren't stained. They are a brown (they were never white!) suede like synthetic material. My issue is that they are falling apart. Literally the sole is detaching from the the upper. I am sorry if I posted incorrectly about them being suede, just a genuine mistake. (In response to being accused of lying about how I had worn them!)
