After a really lovely day out yesterday that included a 6 mile walk we got home at 7.00pm dirty and tired and thought that pizza was a good idea, so while I shower myself and DS2 DP and DH1 order pizza on line. Pizza is ordered by 7.15 and at 7.30 we get a call to say they do not have one of the toppings we wanted so we say ok we will have xx instead.
So we wait, and wait and wait, by 8.15 DS2 is asking "where is dinner" due to the fact take out pizza is a treat for him he is looking forward to it.
8.30 still no pizza but a phone call to say we have none of the ice cream you ordered will you have xx, so we say yes how long will you be? 10 mins they say so we get the plates and we wait , and wait and wait 9.00 I ring back and ask "where is my pizza" 5 mins they say. So I hope am getting a discount I say , so I am told I will get a £5 discount, oh big whoop.
Anyway 9.15 my rather cold pizzas arrive and the bloke drives off and we open the boxes to find the wrong size pizzas with the wrong toppings.
So I stick my coat over my PJs get in the car with DH1 take the pizzas back to pizza hut [a whole 5 mins away should have gone there to order them in the first place] ask for the manager who is bloody gormless and all he says is oh but we have two people off sick, to which my response was "I am not your mother, your social worker or your shrink I don't bloody care" I get my money back and storm out.
I then still have to sort out dinner.
I am going to write to the head office, AIBU?

YANBU. go to Deep Pan Pizza or Pizza Express next time.

expatinscotland · 07/05/2007 09:58

We no longer patronise Pizza Hut because they are a rip off.

Our chippy does fresh, tasty pizzas for much cheaper.

kimi · 07/05/2007 10:03

Scotlands a bit far for us to go .

I am now thinking I must have seemed a real nutter in my PJs and slippers.

(totally reasonable and nice and feisty0

expatinscotland · 07/05/2007 10:07

Your local chippy may do pizzas, though, kimi.

Pizza Hut's a rip.

The pizzas keep getting smaller and smaller and price higher and higher.

They try to fob customers off with all these cheap crap side orders.

PIZZA Hut means pizza, not chips, buffalo wings, etc.

kimi · 07/05/2007 10:11

none of this would have happened if the Chinese had been open

Did I read that correctly, do you have a very civilised with your DP and your ex H. Nosey emoticon.

moondog · 07/05/2007 10:13

The lesson is....steer clear of soulless franchises selling chopped up dogfood on cardboard.

Furrymummy · 07/05/2007 10:13

LOL at you going to Pizza Hut in your PJ's and slippers.
YANBU. Defintely write a letter of complaint. Pizza Hut is seriously overpriced. It's not your problem if they have staff off sick, they should still have an idea how long it will take to deliver your (correct!) order, just take longer - but they should have informed you it would take longer. But 2 hours is just ridiculous - you could have gone to your local supermarket and made a pizza from scratch in that time! And the ice cream as well!

kimi · 07/05/2007 10:15

DoorstoManual {love the name) Yes DH1 and my DP get on well.
I confuse a lot of people here I know. I did do a long post explaining it all.

Agree with Moondog.

DoorstoManual · 07/05/2007 10:17

HERE YOU GO DOORS By kimi on Mon 12-Feb-07 20:34:26
It would seem i have confussed some people with the fact i talk about DH1 and DP.
I have explained it all a few times and find people amazed that DH1 and i are not trying to kill each other and fighting over everything from the sofas to the cats.

So a little re cap.....
DH1 and i were together 21 years married 14 and have two lovely children.
Sadly (maybe because we met so young) we started to grow apart and despite my begging him to go to relate and spending 18 months trying to sort us out we ended up splitting up. I think we were both to blame as there were issues on both sides and a lot of stress.

The boys and i moved out and it was the hardest thing i have ever done in my life so far.
I have a lovely new partner who is great with my boys. New partner and DH1 get on well.
We live 10 mins walk apart the boys see DH1 every day except Tuesday (when he takes my mom shopping, and has dinner with her).
They have 2 bedrooms spend time between both houses. DH1 at the weekends and here on school nights although we change it if we need to. I dont drive as yet so DH1 takes me to do the weekly shop every week.
DH1 comes to dinner most sundays and we all spent Xmas together. Just because DH1 and i are not a couple any more we are and always will be a family. Our children have taken the new situation very well and are happy and doing well in school.
I hope im not too odd, I will always call DH1 DH1 because i feel to call him exh devalues him and our time together.
Are we really that uncommon??
So how do you get on with your Ex?

Oh and by the way, i took very little when i moved out as i did not want to rip the family home apart, sort of doubled up with DS1 having the same type of bed at both homes, and DH1 has the cats

I have been to Pizza hut once in my life.
In my wildest dreams i couldn't have envisaged it being as fucking awful as it actually was.

kimi · 07/05/2007 10:19

The thing is there is a dominos next door to it, I should have gone there

OP posts:
moondog · 07/05/2007 10:19

Dear God no.
That's even worse surely?????

DoorstoManual · 07/05/2007 10:20

That is amazing, pity more people didn't manage it.

DoorstoManual · 07/05/2007 10:21

The only takeaway worth having and even then on high days and holidays is Chinese.

anorak · 07/05/2007 10:21

LMAO

Did not know yanbu is now a word.

PMSL at yanbu, big whoop, gormless and kimi in pjs and coat.

kimi is a generously bosomed woman and I dread to think what the pizza man saw on a kimi with no bra

Cannot stop PMSL

kimi · 07/05/2007 10:22

Thank you doors, they still can't get me a bloody pizza between the two of them though

OP posts:
Furrymummy · 07/05/2007 10:22

Ah well, nothing like 100% hindsight!

See it is possible to for new and old partners to get along. I get on fine with my dss's mummy, but I suppose it helps that she and dh were never that serious and weren't really together when she fell pg with dss.

moondog · 07/05/2007 10:22

Doors,yes by all means.
If chopped up rodent and tortured chickens are your thang....
