To think dds friend is either a bitch or just weird?

Foreverandforeverandever · 27/02/2018 22:02

They are 14 and school was closed today so they decided to go sledging (group of 4)

Dd brought 2 sledges and another one brought one of those disc/circles sledges.

Dds friend then accused her in front of the other 2 of having 3 sledges and purposely not bringing them all. Dd explained that she definitely only had 2 and friend refused to believe her.

I have two children Hmm so why would I have bought 3 sledges? They are also kept in a garage which I’m pretty certain her friend has never stepped foot inside of.

Perry crap and over tomorrow or if not they move on to other friends.
Please don’t be that mum who gets involved with teenage quarrels.

Teach your dd dignity and maturity

Foreverandforeverandever · 27/02/2018 22:06

I didn’t say I was getting involved?

I have no plans to get involved but obviously and thankfully my daughter does talk to me.

She's neither a bitch nor weird.
She's 14, OP... cut them loads of slack.
It isn't a big thing at all.

Foreverandforeverandever · 27/02/2018 22:10

Well it is if you’re outright being made out to be a liar in front of people.

In any situation I’m sure no one would appreciate that.

Teenage crap and they'll be mates tomorrow, why are you so over invested as to call a child a bitch

user1479265923 · 27/02/2018 22:13

Op I'm so sorry you've had to put up with these horrible replies. I would be miffed too if my daughter's friend accused her of this. Do they normally get on well?

PortiaCastis · 27/02/2018 22:14

My one has grown up nicely thanks

DeleteOrDecay · 27/02/2018 22:15

She's not a bitch she's 14, yes it's not great that she accused your dd of lying but I guarantee It will be all sorted and forgotten about within a week. Chill out.

NewYearNewMe18 · 27/02/2018 22:17

I can only assume someone has been swigging the cooking sherry.

Bizarre set of responses!

14yo friend is odd. Unless, you have replaced sledges at some point and she remembers your DD using red one and now she has blue one? Who knows what goes through the mind of a 14yo - and I was one, once!

IpreferFrieda · 27/02/2018 22:17

Blimey op there no need to flounce off. Grin

They are kids! Tell your dd to ignore.

Btw my dds are great women. They have learnt the art of taking advice when they ask for it, and not to sulk if you don’t like the advice given.

MyKingdomForBrie · 27/02/2018 22:19

It’s just a bit over the top to refer to a child as a bitch so it gets people riled. Guessing you just feel very defensive of your presumably upset child hence what you said.

I guess she’s just somehow got it in her head that your dd has three sledges. Hope DD isn’t too upset and it all blows over soon.

LeighaJ · 27/02/2018 22:19

From my memory of being a teenager, that's unfortunately fairly normal behaviour, awful manners and all.

As an adult I wouldn't call a 14 yo a bitch but as a 14 yo I certainly thought the word about a few very nasty classmates.

NewYearNewMe18 · 27/02/2018 22:19

O/T given the language usually employed in this forum - why cant a 14yo be a bitch, just so we are all clear. Is being a bitch an age specific thing, ie full bitch-hood doesn't arrive until 18? Or is use of the word bitch that's upsetting people? Should we revert to 'fucking cunt' as per usual? Or is cuntishness another 18+ affliction?

DinkyDaisy · 27/02/2018 22:20

Op I sympathise. I find it difficult not to stress over my year 8s sagas. However, keep out of it if you can as I have made things worse by getting involved in small quarrels.
Good luck!

CB1234 · 27/02/2018 22:24

It's pretty bitchy and weird to make out your friend has deliberately not bought another sled if she knows it's not true. But she could also believe it. TBH, alot of the time this stuff seems to be about saving face. It's no coincidence that the one without the sled is kicking off. Hmm This sort of thing would upset my DD but probably best shrugged off if it's not escalated beyond the original argument. Teenagers brains are bonkers at this age. What seems rationale to us is not to them.

doesthislookoddtoyou · 27/02/2018 22:27

Bizarre set of responses!

Not bizarre at all. A grown woman, and mother, posting about a child being a "weird bitch" because of some stupid disagreement over nothing? WTF is wrong with OP?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 27/02/2018 22:27

Since when did being 14 give you a free pass on behaving like a tit? She was being a cow, being 14 notwithstanding?

IpreferFrieda · 27/02/2018 22:28

Probably tired cold and hungry after sledging too.

New mmm no child Is a bitch. 18 minimum requirement Grin

PerspicaciaTick · 27/02/2018 22:28

The friend made a mistake about the number of sledges and didn't know how to back down without looking like a twit, so she went on the attack instead. It is fairly typical teenage behaviour to struggle with how to navigate embarrassing social situations. She got it very wrong, but it doesn't mean that she is a bitch or any more peculiar than any of her friends.
Leave them to it.

Willow2017 · 27/02/2018 22:29

I can remember being 14 and dont recall ever having accused a friend of lying over something so transparent as to how many sledges they had.
Its patently obvious she was shit stirring. Why on earth would you have 3 when you only have 2 kids?
Sounds like a dram queen, why go to all that trouble to accuse your so called friend of lying about something so ridiculous?

And yes of course 14yr olds can be total bitches. Its not confined to adults. I know some 14 yr olds that beat up another kid in a car park in front of adults after making the girls life hell at school. Are they not bitches? Or maybe they are just 'misunderstood' typical 14 yr olds?

applesareredandgreen · 27/02/2018 22:30

I think it is wierd that you are bothered enough to post about this on the internet!! Leave the teenage arguments to the teenagers ....
