Cadbury creme egg

starlightafar · 26/02/2018 11:18

Just bought one as a treat.
Urrrgh, one bit and it's in the bin, the chocolate was DISGUSTING.
Tasted like cheap supermarket own brand minging chocolate. No way was it dairy milk.
I'm gutted. First roses have been ruined. Now crème eggs. They are vile.
Do not buy or you will be disappointed. I'm not even getting my kids one.

I think the chocolate began to taste different once Kraft bought Cadbury out a few years back.

Creme Eggs have always been the devil's work, though.

GrannyGrissle · 26/02/2018 11:28

I appreciate how utterly disgusting i am but last week i bought loads of packs of them and the caramel eggs for Easter usage. Ate 2 packs a day and little else and have lost a good inch off my waist! God it was a delicious week but i'm back to healthy now.

bluebeau · 26/02/2018 11:34

this is prob why they now taste like shit

Each Cadbury Creme Egg contains 26 grams of sugar, which is about six teaspoons.

hennaoj · 26/02/2018 11:38

They changed the chocolate recipe for creme eggs a year or so ago. It was big news. They are ruined and I only buy them for my children now.

branstonbaby · 26/02/2018 11:41

Yacky horrible things

MargoLovebutter · 26/02/2018 11:42

I used to love these too, but also find them beyond disgusting now.

I think some bugger has messed with After Eights, as they are also not the same as in the olden days.

IreneWinters · 26/02/2018 11:44

Yep, they're horrible now. I haven't bought any in ages. Bastards, ruining our chocolate!

IreneWinters · 26/02/2018 11:46

*that was about the creme eggs. I haven't noticed after eights tasting different.

TheCatsMother44 · 26/02/2018 11:51

I'm boycotting them since they got rid of the dairy milk aspect. They're just not the same at all.

starlightafar · 26/02/2018 11:55

They're bloody awful. Does anyone know if Cadbury world chocolate is still what it used to be? As not wasting money turning up if it is more of this rank crap called chocolate!

OP posts:
SweetMoon · 26/02/2018 11:55

Not bothering with them anymore. They don't taste as good, so really not worth it. Such a shame, I used to love them!

SistersOfPercy · 26/02/2018 11:58

Not had one for about 3 years, taste disgusting. Even worse, they ruined mini eggs too and at Christmas I was gutted to find they had done something to snowballs as well.

I don't buy cadbury chocolate now.

LadySainsburySeal · 26/02/2018 12:23

Creme eggs always have been vile.

Pickleypickles · 26/02/2018 12:31

I thought the exact same thing the other day its tasted like shit old chocolate or something, i just pressumed id got a bad egg. Wony be buying anymore now i know this 😮
And they are smaller than they used to be....

ShatnersWig · 26/02/2018 12:33

Where were you last year, OP?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 26/02/2018 12:34

No way was it Dairy Milk. It was. That's what Dairy Milk is now.

2kidsnopets · 26/02/2018 12:36

Disappointing isn't it. I used to love a bag of miji eggs for Easter, now they just taste rank.

jjessica550 · 26/02/2018 12:38

I actually think it differs depending on where you are in the country. I had a lovely creme egg when I was away on holiday but back at home they taste awful. And why are the white ones not on sale?!?!

starlightafar · 26/02/2018 12:39

Shatners I was away for Easter! So didn't buy any eggs! Was in France actually, and got some proper choc.
It did taste of shit old choc. But I had some dairy milk mini eggs and that choc was nice.
It's trial and error, or Russian chocolate roulette. Even walnut whips are going to just be whips. And toblerone more air than chocolate.
What is happening to the world?

OP posts:
PsychoSyd · 26/02/2018 12:45

Palm oil/fat. That's the reason Cadbury's chocolate tastes rubbish now.

Shadow666 · 26/02/2018 12:47

You can make your own creme eggs. Just need a chocolate mould and to make some fondant icing.

Firstworddinosaur · 26/02/2018 12:49

I'm gutted about the Cadburys decline. Also, they've done something to Pom Bears, they taste weird lately. I feel sad now.

starlightafar · 26/02/2018 12:51

It all tastes synthetic and processed.
Galaxy is shite. I do like fry's Turkish delight and chocolate cream bars, but I miss the one with all the colours in.
I think terrys choc oranges have started to taste more sickly.

OP posts:
venys · 26/02/2018 12:54

My new shock at disgusting chocolate is Guylian. Hadn't had it for years as it was a bit too fancy for everyday. Now they have made it mass produced with palm oil. They are rank.
