To change the password

Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:01

Just gone on to Netflix to binge watch some friends when the pop up appears saying too many people are using the account.

These people are dps brother and family and dps ex wife who both have the password though neither contribute to paying for it.

I only cancelled my Netflix last month's as dp said he was still paying his account and as his was multiscreen whereas mine was 1 screen his was better and it would save us money.

So now I'm locked out and pissed off with a grumpy 5yo and a 10wk old who's kept me up all night.

Will you all agree me changing the password isn't irrational.

Also dp is at work till 8pm and unreachable.

Yes, change it.

Why don't they pay for their own? It's about a fiver.

Go on to your account, select 'log out from all devices' then change the password.

Gide · 18/02/2018 12:04

Totally reasonable. Do it now, OP. Why the hell have they got the password?

Basecamp21 · 18/02/2018 12:05

It's not your account.

Pretty sure you can get through today without Netflix and sort it out with yourpartner later.

Weezol · 18/02/2018 12:06

Another vote for logging them out and changing the password.

Bluelady · 18/02/2018 12:06

You can't change the password on someone else's account.

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 18/02/2018 12:08

Just reinstate your own account.

Cloudyapples · 18/02/2018 12:09

Just upgrade the account? For an extra £2 a month you can get four people watching st the same time

Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:11

Yes I could get through today but it's pissed me off that I cancelled mine and now can't get on.

WTFIsThisVirus · 18/02/2018 12:12

It takes all of two seconds to resubscribe though

It's up to your DP on if he wants them to use it, tbh

Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:13

Why should I reinstate mine. The reason I cancelled mine was we are trying to curb our outgoings and paying for two accounts is silly. I'm also not upgrading and paying more when they don't pay anything.

OP posts:
Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:14

It has his idea to cancel mine. I told him this might happen but he said it was very unlikely....... obviously not

OP posts:
ObiJuanKenobi · 18/02/2018 12:15

Do it!

WTFIsThisVirus · 18/02/2018 12:17

It's his account, though, it's up to your DP on whether they can use it or not. So ask him, or resubscribe or just live without netflix for the day.

ChocFudgeLover · 18/02/2018 12:18

I so would Grin

ChocFudgeLover · 18/02/2018 12:18

Then change it back before he gets home!

Choclover. Loving your style. I'm going to do that

OP posts:
ThisYear · 18/02/2018 12:21

They probably never use it, just log in under one of their names.

Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:22

No problem with that drunk he can't remember any of his password anyway I have to remember for him

OP posts:
snakeshun · 18/02/2018 12:22

Confusedat those saying to reinstate yours or even change it back when he gets home.
I take it the 10 week old baby is his? So you are a family and money is family money? Why would you pay for his extended family and ex wife but not be able to get on yourself?!
I would change the password and if anyone mentions say 'yes I changed it. You'll need to sign up yourself now'. I can't believe there would be any other answer.

Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:23

They do use it. They are using it now. Hence why I can't get on.

OP posts:
Itsanothernamechange · 18/02/2018 12:24

What annoys me more is. Brothers family have a combined income of 80k and exw has an income of nearly 40k. It's not like they can't afford the price themselves. We are bringing home less than them at the moment as I'm on maternity.

OP posts:
squiglet111 · 18/02/2018 12:25

Why don't you cancel his account and reinstate yours. This way he can tell them he cancelled it. They can't argue with that!

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 18/02/2018 12:25

Of course change it! How tight are some ppl it's 8 quid a month ffs and why the fuck has his ex Mrs got it? That's just weird.

HeckyPeck · 18/02/2018 12:29

Another vote for changing the password.

I use a friends log in as they had it spare. If they ever need the log in I'd just get my own. I certainly wouldn't expect them to get another account just so I could keep watching it for free!
