Woman not picking up dog poo & insulting me

Mia184 · 17/02/2018 15:08

I was outside running a short while ago when I saw a woman walking a dog ahead of me. The dog pooped and the woman didn't pick it up. I live im Germany where dog poop has to be picked up.
When I passed her I slowed down and asked her to pick up the dog poop. She said she wouldn't since plastic takes thousands of years to decompose whereas dog poop is gone in 2 weeks. I suggested she should use papers - there are bins along this perticular walk where she could then drop it. She told me to shut the fuck up. I then called her an ugly bitch and ran on.
Do you mumsnetters have an idea on how I can handle the situation better if or when I encounter her again and ideally make her pick the dog poop up (though I don't think she will do that)?

Follow her home and post it through her letterbox. Dirty minger.

AssassinatedBeauty · 17/02/2018 15:11

I appreciate you were being abused by her. It responding with calling her an "ugly bitch" isn't going to help matters.

You can't make her pick up her dog's poo. Seeing as she told you to fuck off this time I can't see how you'll have much success another time. I would simply avoid her if you can in future and don't speak to her if you do see her.

Is there a local agency you could report her to, if you really want to pursue this?

ChelleDawg2020 · 17/02/2018 15:15

I think "ugly bitch" was a bit strong, there's no need to bring her appearance into it. Maybe next time "dirty bitch" or "filthy bitch" would be fairer, because those would be accurate descriptions of the woman. Unless you were describing her personality as ugly, in which case fair enough.

Unfortunately dog owner tend to be unpleasant people like the woman you encountered. There is some cunt who uses an alleyway near me who picks up their dog's shit in a bag, but then proceeds to hang the bag from a tree. At human head height! I could handle having to watch the ground to check I wasn't treading in shit, but having it dangling in front of my face as well is going too far.

In general they're filthy animals. And I'm not talking about the dogs, either.

MissionItsPossible · 17/02/2018 15:16

Well neither of you showered yourselves in any glory during that encounter, did you? You're lucky she didn't pick up the dog poo and throw it in your face after you called her an ugly bitch. That would be getting off lightly around here Grin

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2018 15:18

Why did you call her an 'ugly bitch'?

paxillin · 17/02/2018 15:18

Don't know, anger management? I can't imagine any situation where calling someone an "ugly bitch" would encourage any sort of cooperation.

LakieLady · 17/02/2018 15:19

Push her over so she lands in the shit next time.

Or video her and post it on You Tube.

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2018 15:19

What is the relevance of the running?

MadMags · 17/02/2018 15:21

Ffs!

I hate people who don’t clean up after their dogs but ‘ugly bitch’ ?? I think if that’s your go to insult your a bit of a bitch yourself.

Skarossinkplunger · 17/02/2018 15:27

I think everyone who doesn’t understand the simple mechanics of grammar is stupid.

(Not really, but you get my point?)

GooodMythicalMorning · 17/02/2018 15:27

Not all dog owners leave it. I'd be embarrassed not to pick my dogs poo up.

Rach5l · 17/02/2018 15:36

She's right about the plastic though 🤷🏼‍♀️

AssassinatedBeauty · 17/02/2018 15:37

Buy some compostable non-plastic dog poo bags and give them to her if you see her again.

Eolian · 17/02/2018 15:38

Surely most dog poo bags are biodegradable? Why on earth would you make ones that weren't?

Mia184 · 17/02/2018 15:38

Apologies for giving only a short version before. When the woman told me to shut the fuck up, she also called me "neunmalkluge dumme Kuh" (something like smartass stupid cow) and that really upset me. Hence me calling her an ugly bitch.
The running is only relevant because I'm now running longer distances (I started running in December) and will run along this particular walk more often now so there is a good chance that I will encounter the woman again. Maybe I should find out where she lives and simply report her.

For the same reason single use plastic is used for nappy sacs, carrier bags and so on, presumably. Because it's cheap and manufacturers don't care about the environment.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 17/02/2018 15:40

She’s not right about the plastic, there are plenty of bio degradable dog poo bags available.

Mia184 · 17/02/2018 15:40

Assassinated that is a good idea, thank you

I always pick up after my dog but I've found that some people just want to have a go at you no matter what. I was walking my dog along a road that I'm not familiar with. He did his business so I picked it up but couldn't see a bin anywhere. Carried on walking a bit and saw a council building with a bin outside - so I put it in there. Wasn't anyone's normal bin and the council should be providing a public bin so if they don't then I don't see a problem putting it in their own bin.

Anyway, out of nowhere a man gets in my face - ''what are you doing??!" calling me for everything, blaming dog walkers/owners for every problem he could think of and then telling me where the nearest public bin was. Absolutely no need for his attitude/the way he approached me.

Other times, when my dog has been poorly and his 'business' is loose I literally haven't been able to pick it up because it's basically shit soup, to put it bluntly. I've had people calling me out for it - people who haven't actually got up close and seen that it's diarrhea and impossible to clean unless I carry around a fucking jet wash with us on our walks.

Seems to me that people these day are just looking and waiting for someone to have a go at and dog owners are a prime target. You don't always know people's reasons for not picking up - sometimes their dog has the runs, sometimes they put it in the wrong fucking bin - sometimes they use the last doggy bag on reel during the walk and then the dog has another shit in front of everyone in the neighborhood and gets crucified for it. Just stop looking for reasons to be angry at people for minute and don't assume they're just a dirty pig who does that all the time. As for her plastic thing - I agree with her on that although you can get biodegradable ones which maybe you could tell her about?

Longdistance · 17/02/2018 15:43

You should have got some paper and fed the bitch the dog shit and smeared all over her face.

Can you tell people leaving dog shit everywhere gives me the rage Angry

Sammysquiz · 17/02/2018 15:43

What is the relevance of the running?

Really? Hmm Do we have to use the bare minimum of words to describe the situation. If OP had said “I was out for a walk” would you have picked her up on that?

Unfortunately dog owner tend to be unpleasant people like the woman you encountered.

People who make sweeping generalisations tend to be twats too (sarcasm)

Take a tissue with you the next time and if she doesn’t pick it up, pick it up and throw it at her. Stupid woman! Yes plastic may not disintegrate but you can get biodegradable bags, and where does she “2 weeks” from. Dog shit is dangerous and a child could fall in it, wheelchair user roll through it. Dirty woman. You didn’t need to bring her looks into the slanging match though.
