Woman not picking up dog poo & insulting me

I was outside running a short while ago when I saw a woman walking a dog ahead of me. The dog pooped and the woman didn't pick it up. I live im Germany where dog poop has to be picked up.
When I passed her I slowed down and asked her to pick up the dog poop. She said she wouldn't since plastic takes thousands of years to decompose whereas dog poop is gone in 2 weeks. I suggested she should use papers - there are bins along this perticular walk where she could then drop it. She told me to shut the fuck up. I then called her an ugly bitch and ran on.
Do you mumsnetters have an idea on how I can handle the situation better if or when I encounter her again and ideally make her pick the dog poop up (though I don't think she will do that)?

I've never seen anyone leave dog poo, but there are a lot who do. Cruelly enough I sometimes step in it trying to get to Ddog's poo so I can pick it up. If I saw someone leave it I would offer them a bag for sure. Not sure I'd call them a bitch over it but I can see how you would be frustrated enough. It is the dog poo problem the politicians here are using to push up the dog licence to £50 p/a.

I saw a dog do a poo in a country park today and the owner was well ahead, so I walked after the owner and said 'I don't think you noticed but your dog just pooed on the grass over there' and he said 'Oh, thanks for telling me, I'll go and pick it up' - he did make some comment about how they had been out for ages and isn't it typical that they do it when he's not looking but he did have three so must be hard to keep an eye on all of them all the time.

Yes but don't forget that the women started the swearing and name calling. Also she admitted to not even wanting or attempting to picking up the poo.

Senior I'm glad you've mentioned that and if it had been me I would have reacted the dame way. My dog normally goes once and in the first 10 mins. Occasionally she'll do another when she runs off being a dog and I try my best to keep my eye on her just in case . You did the right thing.
