No. This isn't a reverse.

Was talking to my friend today (F1). She went shopping on Monday. She has recieved 5 "freebies" from a body care shop (soaps, hair care, beauty) VERY expensive shop.

How she did this..

She emailed customer care, told them she wasn't happy with the service she got. That they ignored her. Told him how the staff was obsessing over someone she brought with her because she was more prettier (F2). F2 She got a freebie and F1 didnt. F1 was pissed off because she had just bought the SAME thing that got given for free. She told them she was absloutley furious and was thinking about publicly exposing it.

So they sent her 5 things.
Looked up online, Well over £60 quids worth!!!

The thing with F2 actually happened. But everything else she told them was complete bullshit.

I asked her why she did this? She said because you don't get if you don't ask.

I was gobsmacked.

Is this the new thing.

Or am I BU?

**Looked this up online apparently it's a thing!! People do it all the time!! 😫😫

She didn’t ask though, did she? She made up a story. I’d find it difficult to be friends with someone who did stuff like this, never mind someone who boasted about it.

Apparently F2 does it everywhere she goes. Dosent matter the price. Angry

I'm super annoyed. It pissed me off because they especially F2 likes to show off and burst to everyone about all the new shite she's got.

When I'm working my arse off and not showing duck all off.

Little doci know it's all scammed.

I dont give a shit about being outed TBH.

We're in Kent and apparently town centre mid week is terrible and staff just dont give a flying fuck so refund and give out shit to keep people quite because they are so busy Hmm so sad.

Yeah I've heard of those folk. Some travel companies have successfully sued them after they (the "sick" folk) posted on Facebook and where found out

Yes I agree I think I'm going to cut my friend list quite short. Knowing what theyre capable of makes my stomach turn. People that work hard like me in my case don't get to splash off my new expensive things, while people like them sit at home doing naff all but scam..

Grr makes me angry!!

No @pug I've never heard of it before. I'm on no sort of social media though, except this. So might be why.. ??? HmmHmm

Yeah people (attempt to) scam much bigger things than soap and shampoo. I've seen some pretty shocking entitlement from people who have indeed had less than perfect customer service too, not happy with an apology - they are "fuming" if they don't get free stuff too.

Did F1 buy something F2 was given for free because if they did that would piss me off, or was that all made up too?

I hate this sort of thing and think it's crass. This is basically a crime as she lies to get free stuff and ultimately we all pay for this in one way or another. The cost will be passed on when prices are raised. Horrible behaviour.

@pug F1 bought something while F2 was stood with her at the till talking to a staff member about the exact same thing. She gave her it for a freebie infront of F1 and said to F2 apparently smug 'heres your freebie' while F1 said that's not fair I've just paid full price for that literally seconds ago. Staff new this because they was stood with them. and staff just laughed and walked off.

F1 said she was serious but staff thought she was joking.

To be honest i would hate to be this sort of person, but then again i have a moral compass. Some people don't and care more for free stuff over being an honest person. Sad shallow people

In that case then I don't think she's done anything wrong, as what she's said about giving f2 more attention etc is subjective. Maybe she genuinely thought that was the case.

I'd complain if I bought something then my mate was given it for free seconds later!

But I'm still pissed off, worked out how much the freebies total in and it's just over £60!! It's an expensive shop but over something that cost £10 is bloody ridiculous.

I don't know what you are so outraged about.

A sales person shouldn't be giving out free samples to one person and not the other, F1 received bad customer service.

The companies budget for samples and get tax reduction etc. None of the big cosmetic companies are going bust, their stuff has a high profit margin.

You're jealous, but life isn't always fair.

If the store has CCTV they could see what happened quite easily. If they thought it had happened, it would be useful to watch the CCTV for training purposes anyway, so she's taking a risk.

I work in this kind of industry. People who complain often get something if it’s a genuine complaint.
Social media is an absolute fucker frankly. Lots of companies are held to ransom by people wanting free gifts and extras for absolutely no reason.
I hope she’s enjoying her free stuff when someone loses their job. This can happen and does. Angry

I’m actually confused. I think I get it and I would make a point of seeing someone get a freebie in front of me. Not sure if I’m reading correctly, but did she then complain and get five more gifts? Or did friend 2 get five more gifts?
