Got my finger on the button for either. Which one would people recommend?

I love both, but prefer Prague.

BadlyParkedRangeRover · 12/02/2018 18:49

Berlin!

Kazzyhoward · 12/02/2018 18:49

I'd do Berlin - love the place.

RippleEffects · 12/02/2018 18:49

I liked prague, loved Berlin

fallenblossom · 12/02/2018 18:50

Prague is pretty, but Berlin every time!

GlitterUnicornsAndAllThatJazz · 12/02/2018 18:50

Berlin, duh!

BarbarianMum · 12/02/2018 18:52

If you've been to one, choose the other.

If you've been to neither, my vote would be Prague.

If you've been to both why are you asking us? Grin

LucilleBluth · 12/02/2018 18:57

I’ve not been to Berlin but have been to Prague many times and love it. The food is great and the cocktail bar by St Charles Bridge is amazing .

cheeseoverchocolate · 12/02/2018 19:00

Berlin! There is more to do.

LucilleBluth · 12/02/2018 19:02

I love history and I'm leaning towards Berlin for it's more recent history, but Prague looks very pretty. Both are coming in at the same price.

OP posts:
blackteasplease · 12/02/2018 19:06

Enjoyed both but would say Prague

PJHarveysClutchBag · 12/02/2018 19:10

Berlin.

Justmuddlingalong · 12/02/2018 19:11

Berlin first. Prague next time. Wink

LucilleBluth · 12/02/2018 19:29

Berlin it is 😃 . Thanks all. Any must see attractions?

A person who is tired of Berlin is tired of life. So the right decision.

Must sees:
The Bundestag
The memorial to the murdered Jews in Europe
The DDR museum, if only to sit in a Trabant
The Olympia Station, home of the 1936 games where Jesse Owens won four gold medals
Go up the tv tower for the view
Museum Insel

Berlin is a great city to just be in. I am here right now...

I vote Charlottenburg to get a slice of the older architecture and culture (evenif a lot is reconstructed). The Jewish Museum - amazing architecture to honour Jewish history.

lurkingnotlurking · 12/02/2018 19:43

Check out Berlin style cheesecake. Just amazing. And make your way to Berlin Home Made ice cream shop.

Sayhellogoodbye · 12/02/2018 19:48

Choose your hotel well in Berlin. It’s a very big and spread out City

CrabappleBiscuit · 12/02/2018 19:54

caffeinequick · 12/02/2018 19:55

Loved both but I'd go back to Berlin in a heartbeat.

Fletchasaurus · 12/02/2018 20:39

I have been to Prague and am visiting Berlin soon, I loved Prague, it was architecturally fascinating with lots to do, interesting visits and great beer!!

FlyMaybe · 12/02/2018 21:15

Prague, every time. Amazing place.

Another vote here for the cocktail bar near the bridge, if you mean the Art Deco one opposite the opera house. CakeGinWine

Went to Berlin last year with 4 teenaged DDs and DH - loved it. Going back this year with couple friends as we've raved so much.

To do walking tour (free one where guides have to work hard for money) to get your bearings. Wall and Topographies of Terror Museum. Currywurst and Berlin beer at the food trucks next to Checkpoint Charlie. Kadewe foot court . Holocaust Memorial at sunset, site of Fuher's Bunker. Potsdammer Plaz.
Public transport is amazing you can buy a pass at the airport that covers all modes. We were in Mitte (former East) fascinating and only a few stops on the underground from Alexzander Platz.

I've been to both and Berlin is the one I'd like to go back to. Wrap up warm though as there can be very cold winds! Lots of lovely places to eat. Lots of eateries that brew their own beer. The little yellow metro trains are cute. There's a museum called something like the Deutsches Technikverien (technology museum) which was DH and the DDs fave place in Berlin, I had to drag them away. It has trains, cars, planes, boats - I am the least interested in transport in our family but even I thought it was good. The Zoo is very central. The "Berlin Story" museum is touristy but was very interesting. Checkpoint Charlie, Alexanderplatz, the Holocaust memorial, the Brandenberg Gate... I think Fassbender & Rausch is the amazing chocolate shop? We stayed at the Hilton which is just on the east side of the wall and was very handy for everything. DDs liked shopping and eating at KaDeWe.
