What the hell is going on here?

There are two houses on the road opposite us (next to each other in a terrace). They are exactly.the.same. The colour of the window surrounds, the front doors, the decorations on the wall, the blinds in the windows and now there are identical pots in the front gardens, with identical bamboo canes in them!! There's probably other stuff I can't remember, but every detail is identical.

What is going on?! Aibu to go knock and ask?

Probably a developer did both of them up at the same time.

My nan lived next to my aunt and uncle for a while. When something needed doing like windows, the drive, the roof etc they both both got it done at the same time. The houses looked similar anyway but as the years went on and the Work/changes happened the two houses looked more and more similar.

Could that be it?

They're owned by the same people who rent them out?

There are literally thousands of houses like this, surely? There's whole streets of them near us. Not exactly a mystery.

There was a thread a few weeks ago where the OP though her neighbour kept copying her- down to the pot plants. Perhaps you have found her!

They have probably decided between themselves to set this up to see which neighbour, nosy or otherwise, finds it necessary to comment, they probably had a bet about who it would be! Winding up nosy neighbours can be such fun!

A developer on my street has built 2 identical houses which ended up looking the same inside too, but one was completed and on the market a month before the other. It happens
