What the hell is going on here?

There are two houses on the road opposite us (next to each other in a terrace). They are exactly.the.same. The colour of the window surrounds, the front doors, the decorations on the wall, the blinds in the windows and now there are identical pots in the front gardens, with identical bamboo canes in them!! There's probably other stuff I can't remember, but every detail is identical.

What is going on?! Aibu to go knock and ask?

blaake save the stupid comments please. I really don't get the issue - which is why I asked. What, exactly is your take on this? I would like to be enlightened here. I would assume the obvious answer is developer, as has been mentioned above. Not sure why this should be such a shocker. It's not weird at all.

blaaake · 11/02/2018 21:46

It's a lighthearted speculative thread, I'm unsure why you're taking it so seriously. Get a fucking grip.

blaaake · 11/02/2018 21:47

And, I would find it odd if not weird that two preexisting houses were being made exact matches if not owned by the same person.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 11/02/2018 21:51

I'm going to say cult.

Wait any see if any more neighbours join...

heyok · 11/02/2018 21:52

We need a picture

TwitterQueen1 · 11/02/2018 21:54

I think you need to take a little chill pill blaake. As 'lighthearted' threads go this is about as boring as it gets. I'm not taking it seriously in the least, just curious as to why you feel the need to be so very unpleasant to a total stranger. Maybe you're the owner! I've cracked it!

fusushumi · 11/02/2018 21:54

Perhaps they are 2 buy-to-let properties owned by the same person?

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 11/02/2018 21:55

Wait any see if any more neighbours join...

Oohh, there's an idea OP, join in! Get the bamboo and whatnot and see what happens!

Babyroobs · 11/02/2018 21:58

Identical twins bought houses next to each other and have the same taste ?

HeebieJeebies456 · 11/02/2018 22:00

Maybe the Smith's are trying to keep up with the Jones's? Grin

neveradullmoment99 · 11/02/2018 22:05

Probably someone has bought both houses and is knocking the wall down inside?

blaaake · 11/02/2018 22:22

Ooh yes you've got me there TwitterQueen1! Am the proud double neighbour of OP. Case solved.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 11/02/2018 22:32

Why youd even care is bewildering to me.

Theres many many many obvious answers the main one being oh its the sane owner. But nope i still dont get why you would care, why you would be intriged by it i just dont understand whats so intriging about it.

GentleJones · 11/02/2018 22:32

Single White female Shock

BrimFire · 11/02/2018 22:37

ER because you don't see many houses which look the same inside and out? Because people in terraces or on estates like to express their individuality in what are constrained circumstances?

Also because round here developers put big boards up to let you know the houses will be avaiable to buy/ let. And obviously there isn't one in this case.

Notgotajarofglue · 11/02/2018 23:05

Deck yours out the same, OP

True I suppose DwangelaForever but some developers (in this area anyway as the housing is fairly cheap), buy homes and do them up as personal projects/hobbies.

They are preparing for a massive 8-thread "AIBU my NDN copies me" saga.

starfishmummy · 11/02/2018 23:28

My parents had a neighbour who would spot something mum had and then get the same thing. If the neighbour was having work done she'd turn up at my parents the night before - or even the day the contractor started tonasknkf they wanted to do the same. As if they would just spend hundreds of pounds, even thousands on something they didn't want doing just because she wanted the houses to match.

Jackyjill6 · 11/02/2018 23:34

Person in House 1 is deliberately trying to annoy person in House 2 to make them move away.

Bdayupset · 12/02/2018 12:17

Jesus fucking christ, I'm glad some people on here have a sense of humour! Thanks for some amusing replies. As to the others, I believe it's voluntary to click, read and comment on threads........
