This interview leaves me more in admiration of Jo than I already was: always loved your comedy.

Standing up for women on HIGNFY was fantastic, and so effectively done.

I love Jo Brand, she's a very intelligent, very funny lady and I wish there were more like her in the media.

MrsHathaway · 04/02/2018 14:22

Damned is golden telly. Full of heart.

DreamyMcDreamy · 04/02/2018 14:34

Great article. Smile

DancingLedge · 04/02/2018 14:42

Christian to make a clicky link, just put link

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 04/02/2018 14:45

Jo did a comedy sketch show years back. There’s a sketch in one of those that remains one of my favourites. Going to see if I can find it on You Tube.

Lanaorana2 · 04/02/2018 14:48

When you make me laugh, I laugh for the rest of my life.

No one in our house - including my grumpy aged anti-feminist dad - can see your face without beaming and cheering up.

May your life and those of all your family be ridiculously good, you all deserve it. And full of period jokes, if you can stand them any longer - we can.

WonderTweek · 04/02/2018 14:50

Oooh I love Jo Brand! ❤️We definitely need more people like her. Hello!

bizmum1 · 04/02/2018 14:51

Jo Brand is awesome! She really is brilliant - I'd like to see her doing more of her brilliant observational comedy on TV - we don't see enough of her on telly imo

DancingLedge · 04/02/2018 14:52

Any advance on 3 Jo Brand threads?

Can we now officially call this ' MN Jo Brand Day' ?

bizmum1 · 04/02/2018 14:52

Saturday Send Up with Jo Brand - get rid of that crap that is X Factor and bring some real talent in

ghostyslovesheets · 04/02/2018 14:53

I still tell my girls the quickest way to a man's heart is through his hanky pocket with a bread knife !

willnotbetamed · 04/02/2018 14:53

Loved the article Jo, you're a fantastic comedian with a social conscience. Don't live in the UK any more so it's harder to watch your stuff but my parents recommended Getting On to me and bought me the dvd - it's superb. Keep it up!

papayasareyum · 04/02/2018 14:54

I love Jo Brand, so wise and so funny, big wave to Jo! x

LucilleBluth · 04/02/2018 14:55

See when I was teenager in the 1990s it was women like Jo Brand who stood for feminism for me. I absolutely loved/love her. She embodied everything you can be and say as woman if you wanted too. Dressed in black with Dr Martens......I miss the 90s.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 04/02/2018 14:55

We have the best user names Grin

I miss Eatshitderek.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 04/02/2018 14:55

When I heard what she said on HIGNFY I actually started clapping. She’s a ledge.

Apollo440 · 04/02/2018 14:55

I like to thank Jo for reading Peter and the Wolf to my children under the dome of St Paul's cathedral as part of the events around the Lord Mayor's parade a few years ago.
She was absolutely brilliant and didn't say 'bollocks' once.

By the way Jo, I know it isn't your idiom but you are really good at the kids stuff, please do more.

MountainsofMars · 04/02/2018 15:11

Standing up for women on HIGNFY was fantastic, and so effectively done.

This. I cheered from my sitting room!

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 04/02/2018 15:18

You've made a difference, Ms Brand. Hugely enjoyed seeing you perform live back in the day and you are always the most watchable in anything you appear in. You come across as humane, intelligent and fierce - think I may have a bit of a crush so v. excited to hear that you sometimes lurk on MN

LookAtTheOwl · 04/02/2018 15:27

Jo Brand is brilliant, she doesn't tolerate misogynistic bullshit and has tonnes of empathy, I wish there were more people like her.

Jo, do you call your DP/DH a twatbadger or cockwomble when he pisses you off?

thornyhousewife · 04/02/2018 15:35

Jo Brand is marvellous and Getting On is one of my favourite tv shows ever.

And yes, mumsnet have the best usernames Halo

LastNightMyWifeHooveredMyHead · 04/02/2018 15:38

I was buzzed when I saw that article - Jo Brand completely rocks: she's who I want to be when I grow up ignoring the fact that she's younger than me

Anniegetyourgun · 04/02/2018 15:43

I've been a fan since I switched on the telly one evening and there was one of those satirical panel shows on. The question was "If you started a political party, what would it be called and what would be your platform?" JB said that she would start a Fat People's Party, and it would stand on any platform that was strong enough to take them.

SquatBetty · 04/02/2018 15:53

Love you Jo, I'm sure you wouldn't agree but you are a national treasure!
