To think a tree won’t fit through a letterbox?

Bloody yodel. They’ve broke my letter box trying to post a magnolia tree through it. My neighbour caught them. Now there’s a terrible draft.

I think that’s the first time I’ve heard of Yodel actually trying to post the parcel. Ordinarily they throw it into a random neighbours’ garden or just lie about the delivery so yabu and ungrateful Grin Grin Grin

Wow, and a magnolia tree is the one parcel you wouldn’t mind being left on the front lawn or in the hedge. That is really perverse.

I’m in a flat I’m hoping it will go on my patio? I know nothing about gardening really but I’m trying!

Is the tree OK?

EachandEveryone · 01/02/2018 19:08

I think so it’s not really talking. It just looks like a giant twig I’ve potted it it’s not snapped or anything.

I love the fact you have a quiet tree.

TBF magnolias are gorgeous while they're blooming a whole 5 minutes but are kinda fancy twigs the rest of the year.

CheshireChat · 01/02/2018 20:12

I'm baffled why they thought shoving a tree through a letter box would be a good idea though, even a small one.

However, some places do offer 'letterbox plants and trees' so maybe the driver thought it's one of them Confused.

You just made me snarf choc ice!

UpstartCrow · 01/02/2018 20:59

How do you know they didn't just stick a twig through your letterbox? I'm expecting some expensive bulbs from Bakkers and cannot be doing with shenanigans Grin

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 01/02/2018 21:04

How big is this twig? Magnolias take bloody years to bloom!

Penfold007 · 01/02/2018 21:30

Yodel left a 20kg cross trainer on my DSM's doorstep this week. Different name, address and postcode!!!

Myddognearlyatethedeliveryman · 01/02/2018 21:32

Royal Mail Frisbeed a tablet through my front room window to land it on the couch!!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 01/02/2018 21:33

Goodness I didn’t know Yodel delivered trees. Are they branching out? Smile

Happy sigh. This thread is excellent.

GummyGoddess · 01/02/2018 21:45

I don't suppose you fancy posting a picture of the tree so we can see how absurd it was trying to fit it into the letterbox?

SmurfOrTerf · 01/02/2018 21:50

Diagram please

EachandEveryone · 01/02/2018 23:58

I’m the morning I will. Omg I’m not an experienced gardener was it a waste of money this twig?

OP posts:
IMightMentionGriddlebone · 02/02/2018 00:24

I think a fruit twig would have been a more ap-peeling option.

Rosesarebest · 02/02/2018 00:29

I'm sure that your Magnolia twig wil be beautiful in a few years time. It may even begin to speak the poor girl thinks they talk eventually.
Just give it a little time! Bless

Watching with interest, as I've just ordered a hawthorn tree online, to be delivered next week...

BulletFox · 02/02/2018 01:01

Myydog I'm sorry but I quite like RM's style Blush

EachandEveryone · 02/02/2018 01:35

I’m glad it wasn’t an Oak quite frankly.

OP posts:
IMightMentionGriddlebone · 02/02/2018 01:38

Nah, I think that would have been oak-ay.
