Brushing hair

If you have long hair how many times a day do you brush it?
And if you brush it more than once does it make it go frizzy?

I only brush my hair once but I always tie it back. My hair is stupidly straight and has an inability to go frizzy... instead if I brush it too often it starts looking really greasy

ThisLittleKitty · 24/01/2018 22:54

Only once or twice.

Thistlebelle · 24/01/2018 22:55

I brush it in the morning and before bed unless I’m going out the the evening.

I use an antifrizz product and a BBH to style it which helps keep it tamed.

ThisLittleKitty · 24/01/2018 22:55

It doesn't go frizzy only rain makes it frizzy.

MiddleClassProblem · 24/01/2018 22:56

Once... sometimes less 😂 😔

cookiedough1 · 24/01/2018 22:56

Not even once. I rarely put a brush through mine. It gets a sake and a finger brisk every morning, then I either blow dry and leave it or tie it up in a clasp.

CocoLoco87 · 24/01/2018 22:58

Brillo pad hair here. I brush it before and after I wash it (once every 5 days). If I brush inbetween times, after I've straightened it, it goes fluffy. I use a tangle teaser for afro-caribbean hair.

Justgivemesomepeace · 24/01/2018 22:58

Once in the morning. I don't look in the mirror again unless I have to. I might run my fingers through it at work if it is windy and gets knotty.

Ginkypig · 24/01/2018 23:00

On a normal day I brush it not long before I go out and before bed.

If I'm not going out then I try to avoid brushing it unless it needs it in the morning but do tend to brush it before bed.

UterusUterusGhali · 24/01/2018 23:00

Never.

I run my fingers through it when the conditioner's in it, maybe thrice a week. Thick, shoulder-length wavy hair.

I do nit-comb actually every month or so, just in case.

Ollivander84 · 24/01/2018 23:01

Curly hair so never brush or comb it!

Ginkypig · 24/01/2018 23:02

Sorry I didn't answer fully.

It's long but quite fine and poker straight so it doesn't go frizzy, occasionally it gets a bit staticky though but not very often.

MiddleClassProblem · 24/01/2018 23:03

My hair goes static if brushed too much. Also it goes a bit beach wavy on its own after a bit but right after it’s brushed it looks like King Charles the first...

Idontdowindows · 24/01/2018 23:03

Once after getting up, once before bed and plait it.

SugarPlumFerry · 24/01/2018 23:04

I have boob length hair. I brush it once in the morning and once in the evening. But then I am a wild woman who doesn't do grooming Grin

I put it in a bun for work. If I try to do anything fancy with it it goes frizzy at the bottom and yuk at the top so I leave it wild.

MiddleClassProblem · 24/01/2018 23:04

Oh and length wise it’s down to my lower back

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 24/01/2018 23:05

I brush it when I wash it and leave it down. Then I put it up for bed And ignore it until I wash it again a few days later. It’s a haystack. Blush

seasidelife · 24/01/2018 23:12

Wavy hair down to my butt, I brush it in the morning with the kids detangler, any more than that I end up frizzy and fluffy.

wavesandwellies · 24/01/2018 23:18

my hair sees a brush once in a blue moon when I do a bouncy blowdry. I use a tangle teezer after I've washed it when it's wet, usually once a week, maybe 9days.

my hair is nearly touching my hips and thicky.

ArmySal · 24/01/2018 23:20

Never, I run my fingers through it when it's wet.

BackforGood · 24/01/2018 23:29

When mine was long, just once - in the morning after getting up / before going out usually...... exceptionally again, if going "out, out" later. But I would have it tied back in pony tail / plait / bun / whatever - never wandered around with it loose like all teens seem to do currently.
Yes, frizz from over brushing.

AdoraBell · 24/01/2018 23:30

I have become a lazy/scuzzie fucker since moving back from a dry climate. If I touch my hair once it’s dry it frizzes up. So, I now wash it, apply oil, comb that through, pin it up and wait for it to dry. Then it doesn’t get touched until it’s washed again, possibly three days.

FurCoatFurKnickers · 24/01/2018 23:31

Short hair now so never brush it Grin

When it was longer I'd never put a brush through it either, I'd run my fingers through it. I have a natural curl/kink to my hair and combs or brushes would make me look like Crystal Tipps.

Where do you people get your hair from?!?! I brush mine at least 60 zillion times a day! It's not curly or even massively wavy and I keep it tied back constantly but the roots are nothing but a massive bundle of frizz within about an hour of last brushing.

Namechangetempissue · 24/01/2018 23:34

I try not too -once at most after showering but sometimes I just run my fingers through it. I see the hairdresser every 6 weeks and my hair is never tangly and has no split ends. I don't think over brushing does your hair any favours. I do use a leave in conditioner or oil after washing.
