Had an argument with "D"H yesterday and I haven't seen him since, he's still in bed sulking probably ill, he's always "ill" if we have a row. I've had a very productive day cleaning the kitchen, but now I have to decide whether to check that he's still alive , or make dinner for one. It's so lovely and peaceful, just me and the cat!

Oh just make dinner for one. Why would anyone expect him to get up now if he's been in bed all day?

MyBrilliantDisguise · 18/01/2018 17:05

It's just attention seeking, isn't it? He's trying to put you in the wrong, make you sorry for him, make you feel guilty and so on. Let him stew is what I say!

constantlyseekinghappiness · 18/01/2018 17:06

Dinner for 2.

You and the cat!

He’s surely too ‘ill’ to have an appetite....Grin

MyBrilliantDisguise · 18/01/2018 17:06

And when he gets up, feign surprise and say you thought he was out at work.

Trinity66 · 18/01/2018 17:07

Depends if you were in the wrong or not Grin

OverTheParapet · 18/01/2018 17:07

IGNORE! Enjoy your dinner for one Grin

Steeley113 · 18/01/2018 17:11

I’d just check he’s still alive. I wouldn’t offer dinner or anything. I only say check though because when I was a teen me and my mum had a row about me feeling ill (she didn’t believe me) and she refused to check on me. When she finally did I was rushed to hospital with a ruptured spleen and was really unwell Blush I always check now! I know how guilty my mum felt!

SomeRandomBird · 18/01/2018 17:11

Make sure your dinner for one smells delicious Grin

I would let him sulk and salivate for a bit then take him some up on a tray.

thikit · 18/01/2018 17:14

I knew you would all give me the correct advice, and then Steeley posted, and now I feel guilty.

Order take out for one, and your fave dvd!

ObscuredbyFog · 18/01/2018 17:15

Cook enough for him as well so there's little extra effort on your part, leave his to cool and it can be microwaved or steamed later.

Enjoy yours whenever you want it with the cat for company.

mickeysminnie · 18/01/2018 17:16

Christ don't make his dinner! In fact, don't even make your own. Head out and have dinner somewhere else.
I can't wrap my head around anyone, adult or child, that would stay in bed all day to punish someone.
And why the fuck do you put up with it?

Steeley113 · 18/01/2018 17:20

Haha I’m sorry! Don’t feel guilty! Sneak your head around the door Grin don’t give him the satisfaction!

Steeley113 · 18/01/2018 17:22

Oh and I milked the guilt trip for the rest of my teens, you don’t want that do you GrinWine

thikit · 18/01/2018 17:26

I've just heard a floorboard creak, I win.

Lol

Laiste · 18/01/2018 17:37

In bed since yesterday?! Because of a row? He hasn't been down stairs in ... what? 24 hours?

That's a level of sulking i couldn't/wouldn't live with.

Topseyt · 18/01/2018 17:42

I'd still make dinner for one, even if he is on his way down.

That level of sulking suggests he is an attention seeking spoilt brat.

ATeardropExplodes · 18/01/2018 17:45

Stand at the bottom of the stairs and loudly order your favourite take out. Even if you haven't actually dialled anyone.

thikit · 18/01/2018 17:45

He will have convinced himself that he's actually unwell, happens every time. The older he gets the more pathetic it is.

I've taken myself off to another room, sod him.

Mycarsmellsoflavender · 18/01/2018 17:56

Is it normal for him to spend the whole day in bed after an argument the night before? Was he supposed to be at work today?

bastardkitty · 18/01/2018 17:58

Hope he doesn't come downstairs and spoil your lovely dinner for one.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 18/01/2018 17:58

That is really pathetic. Some of the posters on MN have had very sick husbands and none of them has behaved like that. He's just been lying in bed waiting for you to cave in. Well done for not doing that.

barefoofdoctor · 18/01/2018 18:01

If he really is Ill/dead then it's his own stupid fault for crying wolf. Manchild.

user764329056 · 18/01/2018 18:02

Man child, pathetic
