DH left for work in his car about an hour ago and now in his place is a random car! No idea who's or why. We're a cul de sac with on on road parking spare and not near a school, train station etc. so no logical reason to put it there. It's not blocking me in.

I have to get dressed, do the school run and walk the dog now so I will be disappearing for an hour or so just to leave to you all hanging. Obviously I have moved my car and put it behind said vehicle so owner can't just rock up and move it without knocking. I don't need to go out in the car either today so the culprit will be revealed at some point. Depending on their explanation I may or may not be available to move my car and release them Grin

Should clarify car is on our driveway not on road. Diagram to follow later!

It's on your driveway, but there's spare parking in the road?? That's nuts.

SeraphinaDombegh · 11/01/2018 08:20

Yessssss!

monkeywithacowface · 11/01/2018 08:20

Yup nuts indeed. I fear it's going to be really dull like they got the wrong house number!

Ooh here we go!

Seeline · 11/01/2018 08:26

I really don't get how people have the nerve to park on someone's private drive!! I feel really awkward parking in a residential street outside a stranger's house - I know there's no reason not too, but it always seems a bit cheeky. But someone else's drive Shock

Andrewofgg · 11/01/2018 08:28

The popcorn trolley is on its way.

Fuck :O

FlyingFordAnglia · 11/01/2018 08:31

Until I read your update about the drive, I thought it was going to be a bit of a non starter as in someone parking on the road where your DH had parked. But on your drive?! Who actually does that? If I’m looking for a parking space, I don’t eye up empty drives thinking ‘yep, that’ll do!’

Yabu, I got all excited, planned a morning skiving reading the updates and it's all over. Bitterly disappointed

Oh no! I am mumsnetting working from home this morning and was just settling in with a large mug of tea, what a letdown!

MinorRSole · 11/01/2018 08:39

Excellent idea op. Top of house buying criteria - somewhere with very limited parking for the Mumsnet threads. Extra points if near a busy school or train station

SoupDragon · 11/01/2018 08:40

Dammit! I was just settling in with a cup of tea.

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 11/01/2018 08:44

I'm very disappointed in you monkey, getting me all excited then bumping me back down to earth.

Fluffyears · 11/01/2018 08:47

Yeah my parking thread was a non starter too 😢

Ilovecamping · 11/01/2018 08:49

My other half arrived home one night after work to find couldn't get on the drive someone had parked his car across the drive, unfortunately for this stupid person he had parked right up to the back of another car parked on the road, my OH just parked up behind him. Young lad came out from house across the road and said he was just leaving, OH replied that's ok I'm home now and came in and had a cuppa, young lad just waited outside till OH moved his car back to allow him to leave. Not had a problem since.

diddl · 11/01/2018 08:51

So did your husband take him into work?
