So Mumsnet is apparently pretty good at finding things! (Floffel) etc.

My mum has been diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer 16 years after she first had it in her other breast. So I'm trying to cheer her up during her chemo sessions and whilst she's resting from her reconstruction.

One of the things she loves is tea and teapots, so can anyone help me find this tea cup?

She has the milk jug, and the teapot but not the teacup, it was around in 2013 but the ones they're selling now are more overtly 'Alice in Wonderland' I know it's a massive long shot but she's having a really crappy time, and I just want to cheer her up. She's been looking to complete this set for years

(God knows why she didn't just buy it when she got the teapot)!

Christmastits · 07/01/2018 21:14

The manufacturers marks should be on the base.
If you internet search using "matching crockery" or "matching china" as search terms, you will get several firms that should be able to track down what you want.

I've messaged whittards 😂 probably a lost cause but it's worth a shot. This is the teapot. I just wanted to cheer her up a bit.

Whittled' china was made in a Stoke factory, a bit of googling should find which, they may have a factory shop with some left

sproutsandparsnips · 07/01/2018 22:17

Don't know if it's any help but we have a dinner service from over 40 years ago that we had off my parents. I chipped a gravy boat (because I am very clumsy) and because my parents knew the name my db went on eBay, and found it straight away.
So my point is have you tried eBay?

glueandstick · 07/01/2018 22:21

Have you tried the Whittards outlet in Swindon?

Also, I’m fairly sure I saw one November/December time in the Cheltenham or Bath Whittards window. I remember thinking how sweet it looked.

Christmastits · 07/01/2018 22:54

I've got family near the outlet in Cheshire oaks I might have to cash in a favour! That's where she bought them from in 2013 but last time we went they were a bit Confused and said 'but these Alice in wonderland ones are nice too... 🙄Hmm yes Just not the one we're after!
