I have a pack of chicken breasts, am about to pop to the shops and I KNOW my head will just go blank the moment I walk through the door and see the masses. Please take pity on me

I need some inspiration. Hit me with your best shot!

I’m veggie but my go too lacking inspiration meal is stir fry

fourpawswhite · 06/01/2018 13:41

Well it won't help with your chicken really but I have steak pie filling in the slow cooker which I will top with puff pastry later. Having it with crispy kale, red cabbage and maybe wedges.

Could chicken be a chicken pie??

Captainladder · 06/01/2018 13:42

Go to.... not too. My aunt used to make chicken fried with garlic and mushrooms and then stir in cream?

Navegante · 06/01/2018 13:42

Greek chicken tray bake (although thighs rather than breasts).

Psychobabble123 · 06/01/2018 13:43

We are having peri peri chicken tonight with sweet potato fries, corn on the cob and salad Smile

MeganChips · 06/01/2018 13:43

Cod, chorizo and butter bean stew with warm bread.

MrsStinkey · 06/01/2018 13:43

I have chicken breasts too. I'm going quick and easy and just going to fry them off and add pesto for a chicken pesto pasta with garlic bread. Still feeling too last to do much more adventurous cooking since the madness of Christmas and New year!

Arkangel · 06/01/2018 13:44

I crush up cornflakes with the kids and do crispy goujons with Brussels sprouts steamed with honey and carrots.

Kids go mad for it.

DragonBone · 06/01/2018 13:44

We are having chicken, mash and asparagus wrapped in bacon 😋

falaciousreasoning · 06/01/2018 13:45

Chicken fajitas with sweet potato wedges.

Karigan1 · 06/01/2018 13:45

Slice them in half, stuff inside with herb or chives soft cheese. Wrap in bacon then cook in the oven 180 around 30mins. Serve with a cheesy white sauce and sides of your choosing

BulletFox · 06/01/2018 13:46

I fancy something creamy, so spaghetti with prawns and asparagus in tomato/cream sauce

Oysterbabe · 06/01/2018 13:46

Thai green curry.

A580Hojas · 06/01/2018 13:46

I don't think you can beat a Thai chicken curry made with spice paste from a jar, coconut milk, a few extra slices of red chilli, baby sweetcorn cut in half lengthways and fine green beans. Serve with basmati or jasmine rice.

It's one of those dishes which are better for using chicken breast meat, whereas lots of chicken recipes are nicer made with thighs or the whole bird.

deviceNotRecognised · 06/01/2018 13:47

yoghurt + curry powder + chicken = tandoori (style).

Cube the chicken and marinate for an hour or more in curry and yoghurt.

Fry in a smoking hot dry pan for a few minutes and finish under the grill. Serve with microwaved rice. My laziest good recipe.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 06/01/2018 13:48

Was also thinking about my chicken breasts right before I saw your thread! 😂 I'm making a cooked dinner.

lookingforthecorkscrew · 06/01/2018 13:48

We’re having Lancashire hotpot tonight

moomoogalicious · 06/01/2018 13:49

curry goat with rice and peas

BlackPeppercorn · 06/01/2018 13:52

We've got a bit of an open house pop-in thing going on today with various family members so I've done
A pot of chilli (leftovers to freeze)
a pot of chicken curry (leftovers to freeze)
a salad bowl
stick a pizza in for the 'oh it's a bit spicy' brigade.

And lots of jacket spuds with a bowl of cheese and a tin of baked beans.

HelenaJustina · 06/01/2018 13:53

Tomato and mozzarella gnocchi bake with green salad.

MelanieSmooter · 06/01/2018 13:53

DS is cooking Jamie Oliver’s sticky chicken wings (but using legs) with stir fried noodles.

Floralnomad · 06/01/2018 13:54

I’ve got a load of eggs to use up so I’m doing a ham / mushroom/ pepper frittata with salad . I had chicken to use yesterday and we had a casserole .

gerbo · 06/01/2018 13:54
