To wish we had a bath?

When we bought the house, the bathroom has just been done with a walk in shower. We managed without the bath and don't have any real need for one as D.C. can all manage a shower. We won't be changing it due to the cost involved but it's been so long since I had a bath, I would love to have one. Blush
AIBU to want a bath? So relaxing and nice to chill every now and then. I guess my only option would be if we ever had one in a hotel or holiday let. Not sure where else I could have one!
Don't feel I can ask a friend! Blush

We had one put in last year for this exact reason and guess what ... dh and I haven't used it once, d's used it once and dd twice! I reckon it's the not having one that's making you want it more.

MrsEricBana · 05/01/2018 20:12

(We had whole bathroom rearranged at great cost to achieve it too)

isseywithcats · 05/01/2018 20:14

i know how you feel this house has a walk in wet room type shower, no bath, i so miss a long soak in the bath with a good book, and having to stand in the shower to wash my hair, as the shower head is fixed is fun, used to be able to unfix the shower head over the bath in my last house and stay fully dressed as i could lean over the bath to wash and rinse my hair

PlumFairy2014 · 05/01/2018 20:14

Same here. We have the space but not the funds.
I always check the rooms we are staying at have one and take a lovey bath bomb. Smile

StuffAndNonsenseYes · 05/01/2018 20:20

YANBU! My (rented) house has a bath, but it's way too narrow for even my skinny bugger DP, so I don't have a chance. In some ways that feels worse than not having one at all. (I didn't miss it as much when I lived places with just showers)

This year when visiting family I've managed to have my first two baths in over a year and they were marvellous. When we finally leave this house a decent bath is near the top of my priority list.

BigBaboonBum · 05/01/2018 20:20

I’m currently writing this in the bath, but only because I’m pregnant and have SPD... otherwise we just use the separate shower. It’s so much easier and quicker!

00100001 · 05/01/2018 20:22

I'd get rid of ours. It's is where the cat sleeps, and some candles loiter

mercurymaze · 05/01/2018 20:23

what sort of bathroom does not have a bath? madness

Bambamber · 05/01/2018 20:23

My MIL comes to ours for a bath when she fancies a soak Grin

MistressPage · 05/01/2018 20:24

YANBU. Baths are amazing. I specially designed our bathroom around a massive freestanding bath. I loll in it by candlelight with a glass of wine when toddler has gone to bed. We don't have a shower.

TeeniefaeTroon · 05/01/2018 20:27

The bath in our last house had a lovely roll top bath with feet, it was so deep it covered all of me even when I was 9 months pregnant. The bath in this house is so shallow it barely covers my 5 year olds tummy 😢 we ended up putting a hot tub in the garden and it's fab! Toasting hot and bubbles at the flick of a switch. Only thing is I can't have candles around it or put bath bombs in it.

Supermagicsmile · 05/01/2018 20:27

I'm currently dreaming of a large, corner bath. Possibly rith jacuzzi style jets Grin

and a lush bath bomb.

YADNBU, I love my bath & no way would I tolerate a house without one.
Get looking for a night away in a plush hotel with a fabulous bath.

brizzledrizzle · 05/01/2018 20:28

A bath is a luxury I wouldn't want to be without, I'd never buy a house without a bath. Maybe book a lovely holiday cottage with a decent bath for the summer and treat yourself to a bath each day?

Neverender · 05/01/2018 20:28

YANBU - lived in a house without one for 6 months and missed it so much! Definitely ask a good friend if you can borrow theirs, I would!

Bratsandtwats · 05/01/2018 20:29

I miss having a bath soooo much. Seriously tempted to book into a local hotel just to have a long soak.

BigBaboonBum · 05/01/2018 20:29

Currently swapped out my lush bath bomb for a lush oil ball instead. I haven’t used these before but it’s amazing! My skin is so soft

Neverender · 05/01/2018 20:30

Hate it when you book into a hotel and don't get one! I'm planning on starting a new hotel chain; every room has a bath, and a shower with decent water pressure AND no noisy air con AND decent shampoo!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/01/2018 20:31

I could never be without a bath. It's not just a cleaning method, it's a relaxing pampering session. At least if you have the space, maybe one day you could put one back in.

starfishmummy · 05/01/2018 20:32

Yanbu. Years ago we stayed in a holiday cottage that only had showers and halfway through the holiday I was desperate for a bath, even though I rarely had them at home.

Now it's the opposite and our shower doesn't work so I have baths, I won't say I am desperate for.a shower but do enjoy one when I get the chance

Bratsandtwats · 05/01/2018 20:33

Neverender

Make sure the baths are deep. And long. With no dripping shower head over them and taps I can work with my feet for hot water top-ups.

Fluffy towels too.

Oysterbabe · 05/01/2018 20:34

I don't really understand baths. I'm having to have them at the moment as doing up house and shower not installed yet. Thought I might enjoy this relaxing soak people talk about, it's boring as hell.

Shmithecat · 05/01/2018 20:34

Yanbu op. I like a shower but I'd miss baths if I couldn't wallow in one occasionally.

theSnuffster · 05/01/2018 20:35

I love soaking in a nice hot bath. Especially if I'm poorly. And it's so helpful when my sciatica is bad. I don't think I'd cope with just a shower!
