Front fastening bras.

Does anyone know where I can get a front fastening bra, size 46D/DD,preferably in black or navy (although will settle for other colours if black/navy not available) in mainly cotton, that doesn't cost the earth? I feel like I've looked everywhere over the last few months. Not all companies that do bras cater for larger sizes, often only going up to 40D. I've tried Evans,Yours Clothing, all the usual catalogues (Very,Ambrose Wilson etc) with no joy. Every time I see one I like,it's sold out! A couple of years ago I bought a pack of 2 from Yours Clothing for £22,which I think is reasonable. But they are starting to fall apart. Help!

Without meaning to sound rude - are you sure you're a 46? What's your dress size?

spangles1963 · 01/01/2018 18:49

I'm a dress size 22 -24.

I've had some from Victoria's Secret

spangles1963 · 01/01/2018 18:51

But does VS do bigger sizes?

A 46?! I think you need to get re measured. You're probably more a 40FF or 38G than a 46D!! They are 'sister sizes' so will fit the same, if not better.

FittonTower · 01/01/2018 18:53

Figleaves is pretty good and I think carries a wide range of sizes. I got a great front fastening bra there.

The Royce Comfi bra? Not sure what size they go up to. I had one post op and it was really comfortable.

TrinitySquirrel · 01/01/2018 18:54

OP I'm a big girl, but I have never been bigger than a 38/40 back, even at a size 24. You need to try the sister size method as you're probably wearing the wrong size. A 46" back would be more like a size 28/30.

lalalalyra · 01/01/2018 18:54

Simply Be do a good range of front fastening bras in bigger sizes.

OhWhatToChoose · 01/01/2018 18:55

I'm a size 32 and wear a back size 46/48 and a G or H cup. Definitely sounds like you could do with a good measure

BeckettsandChapel · 01/01/2018 18:55

I’m a size 22 but I am a 38g so I would get re measured

KioskKeithForPresident · 01/01/2018 18:55

USA based but ship to the UK. Try googling adaptive clothing for other options.

cardibach · 01/01/2018 18:56

I’m size 22 and 40DD. I doubt you are 46 OP.
Get measured.

NapQueen · 01/01/2018 18:57

Defiently re measure. Do yoy have a tape meaure at home? If so google the Boob or Bust method.

RavingRoo · 01/01/2018 19:00

I was a 38D - 40C when I was a size 14. Some of us just have bigger rib cages.

CheekyRedhead · 01/01/2018 19:00

I'm a 20/22 and 40F definitely get sized properly. Also why a front fastening bra? I don't imagine them being as secure as assessment back fastened one when you have big boobs or am I missing something?

Ooh go and get yourself measured! It's good fun and you can try lots of lovely bras on! If you have a Bravissimo shop near you, they are fabulous! Good luck

Kittysparks1 · 01/01/2018 19:06

I'm a size 12 and a 38 band. I've been measured twice. Some people do just have a big old set of ribs!

georgie262 · 01/01/2018 19:07

I'm wearing a front fastening bra now and to be honest it's not very flattering gives me a mono boob. Also not very supportive - I only put it on because I'm slobbing out today and it's one of the few bras I have that isnt underwired. I wouldn't waste your money.

NapQueen · 01/01/2018 19:10

Any of you who are wearing massive band sizes, have you done the "add 4 inches" method?

spangles1963 · 01/01/2018 19:17

I have to wear a front fastening bra as I have a combination of tendinitis/arthritis in both shoulders and a frozen shoulder in one. So getting a back fastening bra on is near impossible for me (I live alon so have no one to help me!).

RavingRoo · 01/01/2018 19:18

No napqueen. I wear a 36DD right now and my band measurement is 36. I am a size 12

spangles1963 · 01/01/2018 19:19

NapQueen What is the "add 4 inches" method?
