I can't wait to get the damned things away. Was going to wait til the 3rd but I'm over it.

I took them down yesterday, about 2 days after I wanted to. Happy to put them up first weekend in Dec but once Christmas is over I just want them gone.

MirandaWest · 31/12/2017 20:53

Ours are still here Smile

Amanduh · 31/12/2017 20:55

Always keep ours until 12th night. Always see posts about how people can't wait to take them down..I am the complete opposite!

JaneEyre70 · 31/12/2017 20:55

Nope. Ours went back in the cupboard today....bloody sick of standing on needles from the tree and the dog kept walking round it to make sure even more fell off Hmm. We've got an outdoor tree that I've left the lights on etc, and will take those down on the 6th. I'd put the lot away on Boxing Day if it was up to me.

KnightsOfCydonia · 31/12/2017 20:55

Mine is still up although I want to take them down as the cat has rendered half the tree bald from climbing up it 🙄

Autumnchill · 31/12/2017 20:55

I love my tree! I'm debating next Saturday for taking it down

Littlelambpeep · 31/12/2017 20:56

DC are in bed and I have dismantled the tree and mist are put away. It annoys me by this stage.

froginapond · 31/12/2017 20:56

There is a thread currently running that asks the same question.

I was a bit sad to see ours get packed up today. The room looks a bit bare. I'll be over it tomorrow, though!

mumonashoestring · 31/12/2017 20:58

I can't wait to have the space back as we have some furniture to rearrange and there's no point trying to do it with tinsel and lights strung everywhere, but I'll still be sad - we have some very 'important' tree decorations that have sentimental links so it's lovely to see them hanging there all lit up and lovely. And I love snuggling down on the sofa in the evenings with just the TV and the tree lights on and watching something relaxing.

meandmytinfoilhat · 31/12/2017 21:04

Ours came down 2 days ago.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/12/2017 21:10

Tree on Wednesday (it was a 7' one so took up half the room) everything else yesterday.

I do miss them though, live the cosiness of decorations , its all nekkid now (apart from some LED candles)

museumum · 31/12/2017 21:14

I love ours.
Taking them down means back to work and routine. We’re so happy chilling out together as a family.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 31/12/2017 21:17

No never. Shall be taking them down on the 2nd.

ProseccoMamam · 31/12/2017 21:19

Mine were down Boxing Day morning. I felt amazing hoovering the spot where the tree was Grin

dementedma · 31/12/2017 21:20

i will take ours down tomorrow to give me something to do on NY day when everything is shut and hungover (Scotland).
I will miss the sparkly warmth of the tree though

RefuseTheLies · 31/12/2017 21:22

I love my Christmas tree and decorations, but I don’t like going in to the new year with all the Xmas paraphernalia hanging around, so everything came down today.

PavoReal · 31/12/2017 21:23

Mine will be down tomorrow as I’m back at work on Tuesday. Will be very odd this year as it went up the day after we moved in so I have no idea how the room will look. Always a bit mournful when Christmas is over.

haveacupofteaandamincepie · 31/12/2017 21:26

Yeah taking the tree down and NYE make me sad. So I took it down now to get it over with all on the one day.

Dogsmom · 31/12/2017 21:27

Took ours down 2 days ago, I love Christmas but by the 27th it feels over with.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 31/12/2017 21:28

We took ours down today. Our lounge looks enormous now!

I'm glad we got it done today as it means I can relax properly on my last day off before heading back to work on 2nd.

babigailwabble · 31/12/2017 21:28

no! they are coming down tomorrow. can't wait, my living room is going to be getting a superficial facelift (aka accessories, as it's rented) in the NY and I'm going to the garden centre to adopt a lovely ficus. Grin

bertsdinner · 31/12/2017 21:30

Partly sad, yes. Christmas is over and its back to the grind, I also have some really old baubles that belonged to my great gran and I feel sad putting them away again.
On the other hand, I like getting back to normal, getting rid of the tree and having the living room tidy again.
The cat has also taken to lieing under the tree and staring up/ patting the branches. Best it comes down before a full assault is launched.

Blondielongie · 31/12/2017 21:32

We have a potted tree that will go and live (in a bigger pot) in our garden. We couldn't find the decorations from last year so it's covered in random bits from around the house which will just go back where they were found. So not sad really! :) will be nice to have the corner back.
