We jave spent a fortune on tickets and are ready to go out out but now the babysitter has called in sick.
The dcs are all in bed and she only has to be here surely she should be fine?
At home she will be all alone, here she will have the goat for company!

Why cant the goat be trusted to watch them?

Groovee · 31/12/2017 19:40

I would want to be in my own bed and bathroom with norovirus!

KindergartenKop · 31/12/2017 19:40

She probably wants a snooze...

Paintspotsonthefloor · 31/12/2017 19:41

Bung them in the back of the car and take them with you. They can sleep on the hosts bed. That's the sort of thing my parents did when we were small.

thenightsky · 31/12/2017 19:41

God, I'd not want someone bringing norovirus into the house!

Plus the poor woman must feel like shit.

Butterymuffin · 31/12/2017 19:42

Ring somewhere like Sitters and see if there's anyone who can take an emergency late booking. Or beg a friend to do it. Offer money or that you'll reciprocate next year.

Penfold007 · 31/12/2017 19:42

Do you really want the babysitter having D&V in your home and potentially infecting the DC and the goat?

TheFairyCaravan · 31/12/2017 19:43

You are joking? Why on earth would you want someone with Norovirus looking after your children? I wouldn’t have wanted to look after my own children with that.

Ellendegeneres · 31/12/2017 19:43

Nah she’s got a better offer, why else would she leave it so late to tell you!?

Paintspotsonthefloor · 31/12/2017 19:43

Is novo virus a new thing?

insancerre · 31/12/2017 19:45

Go on Facebook and beg for someone to sit, but he prepared to pay
Or cancel and stay in

You can't expect someone with d and v to babysit

pasturesgreen · 31/12/2017 19:46

You really don't want anyone with norovirus in the house! However, the suspicious part of me is thinking that's a very convenient last minute fake? illness.

Anyway, see if you can beg a favour from a friend or relative.

rainbowruthie · 31/12/2017 19:47

Please don't introduce norovirus into your household, just not worth the risk

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 31/12/2017 19:48

I second sitters but be prepared tpmpay through the nose!

Mulch · 31/12/2017 19:49

It spreads so quickly not worth it

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 31/12/2017 19:49

I’m slightly Hmm about the babysitter too.

Takeoutyourhen · 31/12/2017 19:51

Me thinks the babysitter is playing a fast one

calzone · 31/12/2017 19:51

Where are you?

I will come and babysit

tillytown · 31/12/2017 19:53

Goat?

user1495222250 · 31/12/2017 19:54

Are you serious? You want someone with Norovirus to come into your house, possibly leaving the relevant germs around, that might cause your family to catch it, too? YABU to expect the babysitter to still turn up.

TooGood2BeFalse · 31/12/2017 19:57

I call my first reverse.

NoParticularPattern · 31/12/2017 19:58

Why has it taken her until this evening to call you? Last time I had noro I felt absolutely dire for a good day before I started being sick, I was good for nothing for a considerable amount of time before I actually worked out what was wrong with me when I started to vomit. Seems a convenient time for her to have only just realised she is too ill to work, but then I am cynical!!

I second the advice to put out a plea on Facebook or ring a sitter/nanny agency and see if there’s someone who would take a last minute booking. But you will have to pay through the nose!!

donemychristmasshop · 31/12/2017 19:59

I’ll sit if you’re anywhere near me (down south)

Maryann1975 · 31/12/2017 20:03

My 3 kids have been throwing up all day. I wish I was going out (they were coming with us) but all plans changed and we are all sat under blankets watching the fifth film of the day. It’s crap, but the way it is. I don’t blame your sitter for phoning in sick at all, I’m glad she did, sickness is crap and I wouldn’t want the dc exposed to it.

TheFairyCaravan · 31/12/2017 20:04

When DS2 had Norovirus last, caught from the ward he was working on, we were on the phone having a chat. All of a sudden he said his stomach felt odd, I heard him drop the phone as he ran to the toilet to puke. It came from nowhere. He was on the toilet, with his head in a bucket for the next 24 hours.

I don’t disbelief the babysitter.
