She's middle class all of a sudden. Keep thinking of Richard Briers and Felicity Kendall.

Go on, tell me to grow up.

MamaG · 24/04/2007 12:43

When DD was in year 1, DH wen tot collect her and she called "hi darling" across the classroom

her teacher rofld

mytwopenceworth · 24/04/2007 12:46

i can't remember in the best part of a decade together, my dh ever calling me by name! he usually calls me Gorgeousness.

he's clearly deluded, but that's beside the point.

perhaps he just can't remember my name and it's become more and more difficult to ask me as the years have gone by!

"She's middle class all of a sudden". That was in the olriginal post so presumably NoB thinks it is middle class to use "darling"

expatinscotland · 24/04/2007 12:57

Then I take it NoB has never been to my home state .

In which case it would be 'darlin' instead of darling, anyhow.

UtterPigsty · 24/04/2007 12:57

i hate darlign as a term tbh

expatinscotland · 24/04/2007 12:58

Well, everyone knows you're a chav, anyhow, Pigsty .

Pigsty prefers 'hun'.

NoBiggy · 24/04/2007 13:02

I do. When it's said in that indulgent pat-on-the-bottom-oh-you've-warmed-my-slippers way.

You're maybe thinking something else by the phrase, but I know what I mean, and I'm struggling to convey it. Reggie and Elizabeth Perrin. Bit like that.

dh cals me sweetheart

i think - once a year or thereabouts.

laudaud · 24/04/2007 13:06

my Dh calls me honey and recently DD (2 in June) has starting shouting honey at me - funny and embarassing at the same time.

chocolattegirl · 24/04/2007 13:40

I don't have a nickname for my dp. He calls me cat. Probably as my favourite occupation is sleeping .
