Sorry-!posting for traffic.

I'm booked in to see my GP tomorrow but just wondered if anyone has any ideas of what could be going on or if anyone else has had similar symptoms?

  • Palpitations (have had for a few months but more intense and frequent this past 2-3weeks
  • Feeling nauseas for past 2 weeks or so (not pregnant!)
  • Frequent headaches
  • disturbed vision
  • shakiness in legs and hands
-fatigued
  • getting my words muddled when speaking and typing/writing
  • episodes of feeling really down in the dumps for the past 6 weeks or so

I feel like nothings working as it should be and I've constantly got something going on (health wise)

I'm feeling quite worried but no idea if all of these things are related somehow. Could I just be run down? Any ideas what to ask the GP or what the GP might say or do? I have an appt with cardiology for the palpitations next month already.

Thank you

Could be related to thyroid - worth getting it checked by blood tests. I’d expect the doctor will do that as one of their first responses.

araiwa · 12/12/2017 17:44

The doctor will know best. Tell them.

Random strangers will only confuse and/ or scare you

mrsharrison · 12/12/2017 17:48

I had similar and was found to be low in vit b 12. Google it. A deficiency can lead to permanent damage. I take vitamins now and eat a lot of marmite.

yerbutnobut · 12/12/2017 18:44

Yes I too am thinking thyroid, you've described how my mum and my aunty felt before being diagnosed with under active thyroid.

runningtogetskinny · 12/12/2017 18:45

How old are you? Sounds a lot like some women's experience of the menopause

Dancer123456 · 12/12/2017 18:46

Thyroid/blvitamin b12 deficiency: vitamin d deficiency.

Ask the doctor to test all three.

MrsHathaway · 12/12/2017 18:46

I agree it sounds like anxiety and/or thyroid - especially if you also feel itchy which is a big hyperthyroid sign.

Very easily treated if so. Good luck.

SummerKelly · 12/12/2017 19:23

I've had all these things over the past few years - had blood tests, tests on heart and head MRI, and diagnosed as anxiety. It's crap because I'm anxious because I'm getting the symptoms and getting the symptoms because I'm anxious. Some of them have gone but I still have the shakiness.

Singlebutmarried · 12/12/2017 20:02

I had similar symptoms, was anaemia in the end.

JennyBlueWren · 12/12/2017 20:09

Deficiency (iron?), thyroid or stress.

I had some similar symptoms and anemia was considered most likely as I have history. But no. Then tested thyroid (and a whole load of other things). All clear. Then doctor asked about stress! I was having a very stressful time at work but riding it out. When I realised the physical impact it was having I dropped the stress-causing part of my job (which was temp anyway).

QueenEnid · 12/12/2017 20:10

Are you pregnant?

londonrach · 12/12/2017 20:15

Marmite sorted me out when i had a few of those symptoms but not all. Gp now has me on iron tablets. I dont take it all the time just once a month for a few days (no prizes of guessing what its linked too) when i feel the symptoms return. Its better to tell the gp rather some random strangers. Hope you feeling better soon.

JollyGiraffe · 12/12/2017 20:15

I had every single on of the symptoms you describe and was found to have extremely low B12 levels.

Was prescribed a course of 6 injections in 2 weeks- by the time I had the third injection, I felt completely better!

Definitely go to GP and they will do some blood tests

goose1964 · 12/12/2017 20:16

lack of sleep?

ilovepixie · 12/12/2017 20:19

How old are you? I was thinking the menopause?

appyburrfday · 12/12/2017 20:55

Definitely not pregnant and I'm 30.

appyburrfday · 12/12/2017 20:56

@goose1964 I generally sleep well getting around 8 hours each night

I had a blood test to test for thyroid issues a few months ago and results came back 'satisfactory'

Wisest thing you've done is made an appointment to see your G.P.
As you've posted for advice - I'm also thinking on thyroid problem. In addition to the symptoms you've listed, have you noticed eyebrows/hair "thinning"? + hairline receding?
Good luck tomorrow.

Espress0Patronum · 12/12/2017 21:00

Sounds to me like your suffering with anxiety or stress

JollyGiraffe · 12/12/2017 21:01

Before I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency I had my thyroid check- I was sure it was my thyroid, but results came back fine.

I was then told it's probably anxiety....but they did more blood tests anyway and thank god they did!

appyburrfday · 12/12/2017 21:02

@Otterseatpuffinsdontthey I've noticed I'm losing a lot of hair when I'm brushing it and it feels a lot thinner. A member of my family who I hadn't seen for a while noticed. What makes you ask? I feel like I'm going mad. There seem to be so many different things going in that I don't know where to start.

appyburrfday · 12/12/2017 21:03

@JollyGiraffe Thank you- I will mention that to the GP tomorrow. I just feel so emotionally up and down too.
