Sorry-!posting for traffic.

I'm booked in to see my GP tomorrow but just wondered if anyone has any ideas of what could be going on or if anyone else has had similar symptoms?

  • Palpitations (have had for a few months but more intense and frequent this past 2-3weeks
  • Feeling nauseas for past 2 weeks or so (not pregnant!)
  • Frequent headaches
  • disturbed vision
  • shakiness in legs and hands
-fatigued
  • getting my words muddled when speaking and typing/writing
  • episodes of feeling really down in the dumps for the past 6 weeks or so

I feel like nothings working as it should be and I've constantly got something going on (health wise)

I'm feeling quite worried but no idea if all of these things are related somehow. Could I just be run down? Any ideas what to ask the GP or what the GP might say or do? I have an appt with cardiology for the palpitations next month already.

Thank you

@Espress0Patronum I feel like this may be a part of it but am incredibly nervous about discussing my mental health with my GP. I know it will open a big can of worms for me. I'm worried that if I start talking I will cry and never stop! (Probably an over exaggeration but that's how I feel at the moment!)

I'm not sure if my physical symptoms are what's causing me to feel so emotional and low or my emotions causing the physical symptoms.

I had that with very low ferritin. you need to ask for a whole battery on blood tests. not just the standard one.

losing hair can be related to low iron/ferritin.

mine got fixed within 4 months of heavy iron supplementation.

Ropsleybunny · 12/12/2017 21:12

Low potassium can give symptoms like that.

Hi - you're not going mad! Just a couple of more pointers towards a thyroid problem.

ghostyslovesheets · 12/12/2017 21:25

B12 made me feel awful - I couldn't remember the names of basic things, I was sleeping in the afternoon, muddled, foggy - awful

it could be that

RedPanda25 · 12/12/2017 21:28

I was thinking thyroid too from your post. I know you said your last test was ‘satisfactory’ but the uk have such a broad range of what’s supposedly normal and it could be affecting you if you’re at the high end of the range. It may be worth asking what those results were if nothing else shows up. Hope you’re ok OP.

Seems a random one but do you ever feel like you've got a lump in your throat or like something's stuck in there?

LondonLassInTheCountry · 12/12/2017 21:36

Could be thyroid

Justaboy · 12/12/2017 21:39

The suggestion of eating Marmite;?.

Surly its simpler to have an operation instead;?

appyburrfday · 12/12/2017 21:40

@baritonehome I have noticed this the past few days. It's the feeling I get in your throat when your about to be sick so is only there when I'm feeling nauseous

appyburrfday In all seriousness if you think you need to discuss mental health problems then just do it.

You don't need to be scared of that just look upon it as something lieke that might be the problem and this doctors visit is the start of healing that:-)

LoneParenting101 · 12/12/2017 21:44

Could be Fibromyalgia. I have those symptoms amongst others

bespawler · 12/12/2017 21:50

Could be a few different things that others have mentioned but the lump in the throat is an indicator of stress. They should do some basic tests to see if there's anything physically wrong first and go from there. It could be a low iron or a thyroid problem.

I work in healthcare, had similar symptoms in the past and had no idea what was wrong with me. I saw a GP 4 times and got told "there's nothing medically wrong with you" before I had a massive panic attack. I started to feel better once I knew what was happening, I think the uncertainty doesn't help. I've not had to take any medication or go to any counselling, they just advised me on coping strategies and (touch wood) I've been ok since.

Hope you get on ok Flowers

JollyGiraffe · 12/12/2017 22:00

I was all over the place emotionally too- and started having panic attacks! Crazy what a severe deficiency can do. I felt sick constantly and completely lost my appetite. Also brain fogs, palpitations and a jumpy heart, feeling very spaced out and like I couldn't see where I was going...

Hopefully doctor wil do a whole set of bloods! Let us know how it goes Smile

Thekitten · 12/12/2017 22:22

This sounds like me when I had iron deficiency anaemia earlier this year. Get a ferritin check, b12, full bloods and... throw in diabetes. It's good to be sure about that one.
Good luck op!

placebobebo · 12/12/2017 22:38

Combination of stress, anxiety and anaemia.
I have many of those symptoms, down to actual throwing up, but chest pain as well and I get them when stressed instead of on exertion.
So I am waiting for a 24 hour ECG to rule out any heart problems before going back to ask for treatments to help deal with stress and anxiety.
