Father christmas is outside my house

I am probably being a sleep deprived scrooge but there he is on his sleigh with 1000000 decibel christmas tunes blasting

Its half past 8, a school night and my DD is ill which obviously he should already know being santa.

He was outside my house earlier. I took my DD out to see him but she decided that he was too noisy and that she wanted to go back into the house.

There is no need to be quite that loud is there! Ive heard him approaching for an hour and a half 😂

When I was a little tiny person, I told my mum that Father Christmas was coming down the path one afternoon. He actually was, it was a promotion by a soap or washing up manufacturer and if you had some of the soap/washing powder, you got a free turkey, and we did so we did!

It's once a year -I'm sure it's annoying as you are knackered but he will be off shortly and that's it until next December.

I'm going to be helping Santa tomorrow evening. It raises loads of money for charity. I'm sorry your DD is ill - hope she gets better soon!

I got pissed off when they came round here. Didn't actually wake DD but it annoyed me to think about it . Seemed a weird way to encourage parents to donate money

Dont get me wrong i think its nice for the kids abd great that they raise money but surely most fathet chridtmas believing children are in bed by half 8? And he could turn it down a smidge, just a little smidge.

Santa used to keep his sleigh in the rotary club man on the corner's garage. DC were goggle eyed when we pointed it out

We actually had to hunt Santa down one year when he left our road out He was very easily tracked through the foghorn level soundtrack though. Probably not the kind of benefit you're appreciating tonight, OP.

Maybe he has been out since early bedtime hours and you are the last of the streets/route? I'm quite relaxed about bedtime so it wouldn't bother me at all as a one off special event.

since when do the rotary club wander around residential streets? local high streets on a strictly 9-5 basis around here! where on earth do you all live?

He's been here tonight too. I love it. DS (14) came out for a photo. Never too old for santa 🎄

Our local round table organises Santa's sleigh to go round all the villages in the area. We are lucky because ours is the last village to be done before Christmas so it feels far more Christmassy.

When we moved here we didn't know they did this. DD was 3 and had just come out of hospital, then Santa turned up at tea time. It was magical.

He passed my place on Saturday... Not as late as 8 though, more like 5:30. I bundled up the almost-2-year-old and hurried out all of an 'ooh' and 'ahh' and 'look at the pretty lights!' Said almost-2-year-old screamed, and spent the next half hour either crying or refusing to be moved from my lap.

Hopefully next year will be a little less traumatic.

I still love it when he comes round our street. It was magical when the dc were little, but now they are grown, I still go out and wave. .

Rotary , Round Table, Scouts - they book the license so they don't clash but all go out.
I've helped collect too - it is lovely - most people are delighted to see you.

ooh rachie we don't hold with that sort of behaviour here up north -midlands-. Not even from Santa! I think I'd have kittens if they did that on my street, we do not take kindly to being interupted from our Yorkshire tea and coronation street! However DC1 would love it lol

Father Christmas has never come to our street, apart from on xmas eve obviously. We have always had to go to him at various locations (cost involved). We even had to head to Lapland one year (mega cost involved). We are certainly on the naughty list.

Haven't seen our rotary club Father Christmas procession yet - be another week or so. We do love it though
