To feel like shit for being a Sunday failure

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:07

I was supposed to:
Clean the house
Do yoga
"Work out"
Make a carrot soup
Play some guitar
"Write" some of my "novel"
Book some stuff
Play with cats
Cut and paint my nails
Deep condition my hair
Read

Instead you kbow what I did?
Fucking sat here all day reading AIBU threads and WhatsApping my sister.

I didnt even have the motivation to make cupcake batter to eat raw, let alone bake them.

Now I feel like a Sunday failure and an addict.

Does anyone feel the same?

Also, should I write today off or try and make some lame attempt at something on the list?

I would have a shower and deep condition hair and read book. Perhaps while playing with cats. I reckon everything can wait. Carrot soup sounds very healthy....

WhooooAmI24601 · 26/11/2017 21:11

Do thirty minutes of yoga with deep conditioner on your hair. Play with the cats then have an early night.

Everyone needs down days where they just do nothing. They're good for the soul. I've been feeling fragile (totally self-inflicted, who knew espresso martinis got you so spangled) so have napped, baked a christmas cake and played on MN all day.

LabradorMama · 26/11/2017 21:11

There’s still time to play with the cats and you can read for half an hour when you go to bed Smile

I woke up feeling coldy so I sidestepped about half of my to do list in favour of drinking tea on the sofa under a blanket and watching Christmas cooking programmes. I was supposed to do neal plans for next week but I couldn’t decide on a single meal so now I don’t know what to shop for tomorrow. But my period is due, which always makes me horribly indecisive, so I had no chance really

Gingernaut · 26/11/2017 21:12

Same.

acornsandnuts · 26/11/2017 21:13

My plans on mist Sunday’s are to get out of bed. Anything on top of that makes my day a huge success. Don’t be hard on yourself some days are just meant to do nothing.

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:13

@WhooooAmI24601

Are you trying to break MN with your many threads OP? Xmas Grin

Sofabitch · 26/11/2017 21:14

You should feel like shit for trying to over achieve on a Sunday.

Give yourself a break

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:15

@LabradorMama

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants
I've been really massively into MN today Sponge, almost obsessive levels I agree!

BigFatFryUp · 26/11/2017 21:20

I'm a big fat Sunday failure, too.

Plans:

Go for a walk
Do yoga
Get a manicure
Make soup
Do housework

What I actually did:
Dozed a lot on the sofa
Watched an awful lot of telly
Stuffed my face
Bribed DD to give me a shoulder massage

Butterymuffin · 26/11/2017 21:22

That's a lot of things to get through on a Sunday. Pick one and do that then you've redeemed it a bit. Then go to bed. Tomorrow's another day.

SecretSmellies · 26/11/2017 21:22

Cuddle cats.

eat batter.

De-reg from MN tomorrow. That's what I plan to do. If I spent as much time on my uni coursework as I did MNetting I'd have finished by now.

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 26/11/2017 21:26

I've actually had a very productive Sunday for a change I

Did some washing
Did the ironing
Stripped and remade the beds
Tidied the bedrooms
Emptied all the bins upstairs
Vacuumed the whole of upstairs
Mopped upstairs
Went to work for 6 hours in a very busy job and ended up staying a bit late because everything went wrong
Came home and had tea then bathed Dd and put her to bed

I'm very jealous of all your days.

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 26/11/2017 21:27

If I spent as much time on my uni coursework as I did MNetting I'd have finished by now.

OMG ^^ This Grin

purplecorkheart · 26/11/2017 21:29

My plan was laundry
Paperwork
Manicure
Hair Treatment
Supermarket shopping
Ironing.

I have
Slept in.
Watched half of season 7 of the Gilmore Girls.
Did a root in the fridge to cobble together a dinner.
Just getting changed for bed now.

Clearly I have the house to myself this weekend!

somanyusernames · 26/11/2017 21:29

Op, I’ve been wearing my toenails painted on one foot for 2 weeks now - too idle to remove the polish or paint the other side.

I’ve done a lot of cleaning today though - but as usual, it’s nowhere near enough!

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:31

@BigFatFryUp
What the hell? So many similarities on our lists!

OP posts:
munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:33

Its bizarre we all seem to have some kind of compulsory Sunday manicure or pedicure thing going on.
Makes me wonder if this activity (generally seen as "pampering") is actually more of a chore than a feel good treat.

OP posts:
slithytove · 26/11/2017 21:33

My plans

Get up early with kids
Pick up all leaves and cut garden back for winter
Clean and cover garden furniture
Re make beds
Meal plan for week ahead
Homework - number Hunt, number practice and 2 reading books

I did
Sleep till 11
Watch polar express
Meal plan
Watch home alone 2
Number Hunt

Success in my book!

missiondecision · 26/11/2017 21:34

Sorry ... but ... play with the cats ??? Really ? You factor time for cat play??

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:34

@SecretSmellies
You have a point. What is it about MN that makes it so addictive?!

OP posts:
purplecorkheart · 26/11/2017 21:35

Ah my manicure.plan is because my nails look like I have been breaking stones with them!

canonlydoblue · 26/11/2017 21:35

Your mn/whatsapp Sunday sounds absolutely lush. I say this as someone who has literally this minute just sat down with my first cup of tea of the day.
