To feel like shit for being a Sunday failure

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:07

I was supposed to:
Clean the house
Do yoga
"Work out"
Make a carrot soup
Play some guitar
"Write" some of my "novel"
Book some stuff
Play with cats
Cut and paint my nails
Deep condition my hair
Read

Instead you kbow what I did?
Fucking sat here all day reading AIBU threads and WhatsApping my sister.

I didnt even have the motivation to make cupcake batter to eat raw, let alone bake them.

Now I feel like a Sunday failure and an addict.

Does anyone feel the same?

Also, should I write today off or try and make some lame attempt at something on the list?

I have used my Christmas present from the Out-laws to clean the tiles in my kitchen, cooked a roast, washed up from roast, ordered some Christmas presents for DD2.

This is unusual for me though. I normally chill right out on a Sunday, so I feel a failure too!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/11/2017 21:38

I now write weekend lists

Today was

Garden (didn't )
Start xmas cards (didn't)
Do my abs workout (didn't)

I did manage a bike ride and lay there talking about history to my DC till 930 PM so feel slightly better Grin

GertrudeCB · 26/11/2017 21:38

Haha I was going to say that you've had a very productive day on MN Munky but someone beat me to it...but similarly, I have been much more active myself on MN for the last few days. I'm sure people are sick ofy verbal diarrhoea all over their threads.

But I am excusing myself on the basis that I've had minor abdo surgery, I'm a bit traumatised by the experience and I have been boring everybody to death trying to unravel the horror in my head.

Today I couldn't be arsed to do anything but lay in bed poking my dressings and feeling grumpy. But I got up, washed and dressed (including a proper bra for the first time in 6 days, my tits will be down by my ankles), put some washing on, went with DH to visit MIL in new house, took my elderly DM for lunch and a mooch round the garden centre, went shopping then came home and applied to switch bank accounts (Lloyds are robbing bastards).

Then I stuffed my face with chicken in a bagel, ate a Twirl (still listening for the rumbling echo of my now absent gallbladder), and crocheted a few more rows of Jabba The Hut.

Not bad really.

Nyx1 · 26/11/2017 21:40

How could you not play with your cats?

The rest of it, never mind Grin

YouBetterWORK · 26/11/2017 21:41

I...

Read MN
Played Assassins Creed
Checked Amazon for deals
Made soup
Watched The Punisher

And have now just got out of the bath. I am thinking about having a listen to a hypnobirthing track I got given to at least be calmer about the prospect of childbirth and not shitting a brick. But no, I'm on MN again in between fussing the cat. (For some reason me or DH coming out of a bath/shower means she is waiting and is all over us for fuss time)

Doilooklikeatourist · 26/11/2017 21:41

I went Christmas shopping ( bought a jigsaw )
And looked for a new party dress ( couldn’t find one ) ( so I’ll wear my old one )
Now I’ve drunk too much wine , moved onto brandy and watching I’m a celeb
But will put some oil on my nails , so Sunday isn’t totally wasted 😀

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/11/2017 21:41

Why was your ab surgery so bad ?

Took me 8 weeks to recover from mine !

Addictedtothisbloodyforum · 26/11/2017 21:46

Iv done a food shop ,hoovered right through house , mopped floors and bleached kitchen and all our bathrooms , made a full Sunday luNch with all homemade trims , done uniforms , bathed kids and done some uni work ! Quite a productive day - oh and two loads of washing , washed , dried , ironed and put away !!

gingergenius · 26/11/2017 21:46

I've worked most of the weekend, with a filthy cold whilst still looking after my 3 kids. I'd give my right arm to ignore my leisure-time to-do list. I'm very jealous!!!

BillyDaveysDaughter · 26/11/2017 21:46

It wasn't, not really - just gallbladder removal, but I was very anxious about feeling sick after the anaesthetic (emetophobic). So they kindly gave me a big dose of cyclizine which rendered me virtually unable to move or speak for 9 hours. And I still felt sick.

And now what do I do with these bloody dressings, I can't remember anything I was told.

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:48

Everyone is warming my heart with their Sunday reports.

Except @BillyDaveysDaughter, I'm really sorry you're having it rough!

PugonToast · 26/11/2017 21:48

What do you do with your cats when you play with them?

Mine just want me to give them food or stroke them - he then dribbles all over me in happiness. Sometimes cute. Sometimes gross.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/11/2017 21:48

Never underestimate ab surgery recovery time rest up !

Google the wounds on the NHS website ?

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 21:50

@PugonToast

One of them likes it when I run around the house trailing a piece of ribbon behind me.

The other likes me to get on tje floor and flick kibble around for her to pounce on and chase.

I made a new discovery today: take some cooked spaghetti, and dangle it for them. Its sticky enough for you to stick one end on the edge of the table, they go crazy trying to kill it.

Make sure you're always supervising with the ribbon and spaghetti though - dont want them to chomp and choke.

SlatternIsTrying · 26/11/2017 22:09

I didn't get up until 12.

DH took kids to a party so I had a empty house in the afternoon and intended to achieve the world. I did quite a bit of tidying for the first hour but it was downhill from there. I ended up back in bed for another 2 hour sleep.

I have tidied a bit more this evening and managed a half hours worth of ironing.

BillyDaveysDaughter · 26/11/2017 22:09

Good link, thank you. Bit gutted I can't play football or hockey for a while though, I had tournaments lined up...

^untrue

Judydreamsofhorses · 26/11/2017 22:14

I have a stinking cold and have done absolutely nothing - feeling miffed that I missed the Christmas lights switch-on, as well as sorry for myself. (The cat did come and sleep with me though - DP is in the spare room while I’m poorly, so his side of the bed is free.)

Cockmagic · 26/11/2017 22:17

I've ate 5 donuts!

Massive Sunday failure!

BarbaraofSevillle · 26/11/2017 22:17

Play with the cats is one of those things you put on your to do list as an easy task that you definitely do so at least you will be able to tick something off, although cats being cats, they will decide that today, they don't want to be played with and will fuck off hunting instead.

They will allow you to clean up the debris of the disembowlment instead.

RuncibleSp00n · 26/11/2017 22:29

My Sunday to-do list:

Get up early with kids
Sort breakfasts etc
Potty train DD
Sort clean washing mountain and put away.
Do 2 more wash-loads.
Take family for walk in countryside.
Cook Sunday roast.
Make a fruit crumble
Tidy garden ready for winter.
Paint shelves in bathroom.
Hoover upstairs.
Take DS to activity-based birthday party and participate.
Kiddie bedtime
Prepare stuff for work tomorrow.
Watch Strictly results show.
Make 4 packed-lunches for tomorrow.

What I’ve achieved from this list:

Got up early with kids.
Cooked roast.
Made fruit crumble.
Washed all the cushions due to daughter’s constant pee accidents.
Took DS to activity-based birthday party (but didn’t participate).
Washed-up from roast.
Sorted recycling.
Got stuff ready for work.
Fell asleep & missed Strictly.

I’d kill to have a “to-do list” like the OPs ! GrinHmm

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 26/11/2017 22:31

Sad I woke up with an unexpectedly bad hangover and have just felt rubbish all day. Totally self-inflicted and got nothing done Sad

PseuDenim · 26/11/2017 22:33

I was meant to make gingerbread men with DS(3). Instead I let him watch Minions for the umpteenth time with his dad on the sofa while I napped. For theee hours. Oops.
