To go through epic food obsessions

sunshineinabag · 16/11/2017 14:19

In chops and changes but I'll fixate on a specific food and cant get enough of it until finally I get bored and stop eating it.

This week for some reason I became obsessed with porridge and have eaten 3 bowls today, nothing else.

Anyone the same?!

Yup! Always!

MusicToMyEars800 · 16/11/2017 14:24

I am like this, I am currently hooked on carrot and coriander soup and Jacket potatoes, topped with tuna mayo, cheese and spring onion.

FrankensteinsSister · 16/11/2017 14:24

I have been obsessed with lightly steamed courgettes since my uncle made them one night for dinner. I get through about 2 a day, now!

amusedbush · 16/11/2017 14:28

Olives. After claiming that I hated them my entire life, I ate some earlier this year and I'm totally obsessed. I have a massive jar of them in my kitchen and eat them with everything!

stalkingfred · 16/11/2017 14:32

I've always been like this. I eat something every day for ages then get sick of it and move on to something else.

sunshineinabag · 16/11/2017 14:32

Oooh look at us, food obsessives but its actually quite healthy? Porridge, spuds, courgettes (!), olives...

I do this. I’m a lazy cook/eater so tend to stick with the same few things. I can go for weeks eating the same meal more than twice a week (sometimes daily!) until I get fed up with it or find something else.

sunshineinabag · 16/11/2017 14:34

@FrankensteinsSister

Cannot stand courgettes and aubergines and other wet and mushy textured veg!

dantdmistedious · 16/11/2017 14:34

Oh this is me. I eat the same thing for lunch for literally weeks and then can't eat it again.

In the summer it was tuna and bean salad. Right now it's toastie pockets with turkey and cheese.

MusicToMyEars800 · 16/11/2017 14:34

I had soup for breakfast, soup for lunch and will have the jacket potato for dinner.

Orangesox · 16/11/2017 14:35

Completely normal.

Mine at the moment is poppadoms and mango chutney... not as healthy as the rest of you huh!

Pretenditsaplan · 16/11/2017 14:35

Im currently fixed on fish and chips. Before that ot was sushi and before that mushroom risotto

MusicToMyEars800 · 16/11/2017 14:39

Orange I love Poppadums and mango chutney Grin

Laska5772 · 16/11/2017 14:39

Phew... am normal .. I thought it was only me that sometime ate soup for breakfast! i like curry for breakfast also

Recently I have been eating a lot of cauliflower. I often have a whole one broken up into florets for dinner (and nothing else) .. I like it roasted with olive oil and cumin and then lemon juice salt and black pepper on top..

Laska5772 · 16/11/2017 14:42

Sainsburys Taste the difference mango chutney is the utter best ever .. I like it on crispbreads with salad cream Blush

Oogle · 16/11/2017 14:42

Smoked almonds at the moment

In summer it was mozzarella, proscuitto, chorizo, olives and sundried tomatoes for lunch.

MonkeyJumping · 16/11/2017 14:43

Do you think it might be a deficiency and your body craving something? Just wondering as a lot of these seem quite healthy! Maybe your body knows what you need?

StormTreader · 16/11/2017 14:44

There might be an amount of vitamin/mineral deficiency that your body is trying to fix by making you crave foods with that in - as long as its not a kilo of gateaux, youre probably fine :)

itwillbegrandsure · 16/11/2017 14:47

Yep! Tea cakes at the moment!

BexleyRae · 16/11/2017 14:51

I do this too, I'll often have the same lunch for days, for some reason it really bothers DP. He gets all concerned and asks if I'm sure we are buying enough food in shopping for me. He doesn't understand that I'm perfectly happy eating the same stuff

PaperdollCartoon · 16/11/2017 14:53

Yep, I’ve always been like this, as a teen Id just eat the same meal twice a day for a month. I still get phases, but it’s less extreme now I’m also feeding DP

Queeniebed · 16/11/2017 14:54

Yep - my mum would cotton on and buy loads and I would go off it

Queeniebed · 16/11/2017 14:55

DH hates it - I could eat the same food every day but he cant eat the same food product ie. chicken 2 days in a row (unless its KFC)

RebeccaBunch · 16/11/2017 14:59

I'm a big fan of mono-meals, or making a big soup and eating it every day for a week.

Laska5772 · 16/11/2017 15:01

DH works away all week and DCs flown, and so I m on my own all week

I make big pots of soup or something and eat it every meal until its gone.. its also a good way of making sure you get your veggies etc
