My friend’s daughter is playing a mushroom/toadstool in this year’s Nativity

Someone on a thread the other day said they once played a leper in a nativity 😂

I would love it if my DC got to play lepers. Such better comedy value than a Shepherd

Ds1 was bird three (v. proud mummy moment), dd was a robot and ds2 hit the thesp heights when he was cast as the littlest Christmas tree.

I was on the PTA too

Dh and ds both played trees. Same school, same teacher 30 years apart.

My brother was once an elephant in the nativity. Loads of people bought the DVD that year because he started a fight with the other elephants and the photographer filmed that instead of the actual nativity. I was once a member of the homeguard (I'm a girl!) in a Christmas play set in WWII

there was a Piece of Cheese in DC2's nativity a couple of years ago. It was quite a big role, actually.

Dd's had party pigs last year!!

I was the chair of the parent council, and it really paid off when DD landed the plum role of the third chicken in her nativity.

I school i worked at did the Inn Keepers breakfast, children dressed as bacon, sausage and eggs. It was surreal.

DS was a Stoormtrooper in last year's nativity (quite a loose adaptation.)

King Herod's harem was somewhat unexpected in a very nice infant school...

I remember all the boys in my class fought to be Jordan (Katie Price in her glamour model days) in the nativity one year

My nephew was a rock, he had to stay still crouched dressed in grey for the whole play. He was 4 and struggled with the still bit.

I once had a child tell his mum he'd been cast as an alligator. Thankfully she queried it before buying the costume as I'd actually cast him as a narrator....

My dd was a vine. Her friend was a sea urchin.

When I was 4, I had the part of a snowflake in the nativity.

I played a robin the following year.

My DD ‘auditioned’ to be Sharon Osborne this week but was a little disappointed to be chosen as Mary!!

My dd's school plays are always a bit bizarre and goes on for nearly 2 hours. There are all kinds of random characters in that!!
