My friend’s daughter is playing a mushroom/toadstool in this year’s Nativity Grin

Dd was tess daly last year for nativity which was a step up from a sign the year before. Best I think though was year 1 Easter where she was the cross and one of the boys was nailed to her......

Cleanermaidcook · 11/11/2017 22:54

Ds was a pig farmer last year and Dd a cow. This year he's a centurian and she's a Shepard.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/11/2017 22:56

I was a tree once.

Best school play ever though was DS's year 6 performance as a dancing Nazi in Not Quite The Sound of Music.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/11/2017 23:16

My dd was a rock. An actual rock.

Polarbearflavour · 11/11/2017 23:17

Inn-keepers wife. The glamour.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 11/11/2017 23:25

An early nomination from me for classics! What a fabulous thread. Sadly I was always the narrator (loud voice!) and DD similar.

Snorting at children dressed as breakfast items. Pity the mum who had to make her child look like a rasher of bacon!!!!

LelouchviBritanniacommandsyou · 11/11/2017 23:33

I was once an egg and a jar of vinegar. Not being particularly pleased with these parts, I scowled the whole time Blush

confusednorthner · 11/11/2017 23:33

A jellyfish!

RatOnnaStick · 11/11/2017 23:36

Ds1 was the innkeeper's husband last year. He held the door open while she said the line. I thought that was pretty cool.

JustHereForThePooStories · 11/11/2017 23:45

She was the cross and one of the boys was nailed to her

That is magnificent.

I once played 'supporting cast'. I had a tea towel on my head, stood at the back and joined in with the songs. It wouldn't have been so bad if there had been lots of us doing that but there were only three of us. Everyone else had an actual part. I've always felt it was very mean that the teacher didn't just make us extra silent shepherds or something.

eastlondoner · 11/11/2017 23:58

I was a pea in one of my nativity plays.

ineedaholidaynow · 12/11/2017 00:05

Loving these Smile

DS was an accountant one year. As both DH and I are accountants we were really proud Grin

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 12/11/2017 00:09

My PFB was a leaf - yes, a single leaf! - and a rabbit, and no3 son was a crewman on the spaceship in their nativities...
DD was Mary twice Grin

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 12/11/2017 00:10

I almost forgot! No3 son was the "other donkey" one year too...

GottadoitGottadoit · 12/11/2017 00:11

I was once a bush, for which I had to curl over. The teacher then told the bushes (there were about 3 of us) that we were being changed to trees as someone's parents had complained that they wouldn't be able to see their child's face.

It was a non speaking/moving part.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 12/11/2017 00:16

Just realised this is plays in general, not just nativity. DD was a wise owl in "Tatty Bogle" but was rather peeved not to be one of the ballet dancers so she did her own dance right across the stage, in her own time, and took several bows in the middle of the show 😁

Dixiestampsagain · 12/11/2017 05:34

DS was a Dr Who-esque time traveller who met aliens on the way to the Nativity (?) a few years ago. That was random. Nothing to match the cross that was nailed though- that wins hands down, I fear!

BeerBaby · 12/11/2017 05:54

I was a palm leaf! 😂

tailspin · 12/11/2017 06:27

I remember really well when I was younger in my sister’s school play there were two (yes two) children playing a toilet.

hula008 · 12/11/2017 06:42

I once was “Icicle 13 of 19” with a one word line and there were kids in the class that year who didn’t even have a part in the play 😂

JustHereForThePooStories · 12/11/2017 10:07

Just remembered, my sister once played a spoon in her school’s nativity

Buzz lightyear- played by a child an autistic spectrum, I think it was the only thing he would do and they didn’t want to leave him out. The previous year he didn’t take part at all.

TooGood2BeFalse · 12/11/2017 11:03

My son was cast as a SAUSAGE in the summer show.He was delighted 😁
