On an estate?? Don’t know if I’m being a curmudgeonly old bugger, but you’ve had all night to do them - why now???Angry

They'll be going on for hours here I expect (in London).

Supermagicsmile · 04/11/2017 22:02

Seems a bit late (only acceptably late at New Year!)

Cherrybomball · 04/11/2017 22:02

Same here, woke my 2 year old up 😟

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 04/11/2017 22:04

Ha I feel your pain but at least you have had peace and quiet on our estate we have had them pretty much consistently since 5 this afternoon and just when I think it might be stopping some other idiotic neighbour begins their display. Sad My poor Kits have been hiding most of the day and neither has eaten their tea so not in a very happy mood about them no matter how much fun they might be having Angry.

RunningOutOfCharge · 04/11/2017 22:05

Still going on here too

As I’d expect tbh!

EggysMom · 04/11/2017 22:05

They started round here at 5pm, and they're still going .... How on earth do people afford this many fireworks?!!!!!

ReinettePompadour · 04/11/2017 22:06

Theyre not permitted between 11pm and 7am except on specific dates such as new years and chinese new year etc. So technically yabu.

However I really don't see a need for them to be going off after 9pm especially as its been dark since 6pm.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 04/11/2017 22:06

I'm in London and it went all quiet really early here. We went to a display yesterday.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 04/11/2017 22:07

DS2 asked if it was forecast to thunder! 😂

TangledUpInGin · 04/11/2017 22:07

We’re in a village which puts on an amazing firework display too which makes it more unreasonable in my mind. Not as if you’ve not got any choice but to put on your own display 🙄

@ReinettePompadour I'm so happy to see someone else who's aware of the antisocial noise law! I think the only exceptions are New Year's Eve and one other that I can't remember. Honestly if people knew more about this law and followed it the whole situation would be much more bearable. I have a 2 week old son and a dog who is terrified of fireworks and shows this by growling and barking at every single one. There's nothing worse than having just convinced DS to settle and just nodding off myself when a firework goes off at 1am and then the dog leaps into action and frightens us all awake. This happens most nights at the moment as it seems so many people aren't aware that after 11pm it's illegal to let them off. 😡

Packergator · 04/11/2017 22:13

Diwali is the other one.

picklemepopcorn · 04/11/2017 22:18

Tangled, it’s the same here. Fantastic free fireworks within a five minute walk of everyone, but then loads of individual ones as well.

Diwali fireworks went on later than 11pm here.... and over consecutive nights

campion · 04/11/2017 22:28

Ha ha ha ha ha... it's any night and sometimes during the day Hmm round these parts, year round. Yes,there's more tonight, the last week and, presumably tomorrow then we'll be back to the random cacophony. It's been 2 am sometimes.

And no,the police don't seem to be interested. To be fair,it is difficult to know exactly where they are being let off.

MusicToMyEars800 · 04/11/2017 22:32

They've been going off from 5pm til now for the past 3-4 days, and they are still going off now, just not as often.

foxyloxy78 · 04/11/2017 22:34

Still going on here too.

Dee03 · 04/11/2017 22:36

Some here too....started at 9pm Angry my poor dogs are hiding in my wardrobe

greendale17 · 04/11/2017 22:37

Since 6pm here almost continuously. Still going on now

AtSea1979 · 04/11/2017 22:38

Still going off here. Wish they'd fuck off now

MusicToMyEars800 · 04/11/2017 23:13

They seem to have finally stopped here, I think there's an 11pm cut off where I am.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 04/11/2017 23:16

Exceptions are New Years and Diwali, one day.
But it goes on long after 11, as right now and no one does anything about it.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 04/11/2017 23:17

Chinese NY is not in the exceptions.

wonkylegs · 04/11/2017 23:22

Chardonnay- it is according to the government website
