I have to work with a lovely lady however she absolutely pongs. I'm not sure if it's her clothes or what but it's like she doesn't wear any deodorant. It's so strong you can be walking a few paces behind and can smell it as you walk into that space. I obviously can't broach the subject cos how do you do that. I tried to talk about clothes washing the other day as maybe that's the reason why and she didn't participate in the conversation. AIBU to mention something to management? How do I broach it?

Rebeccaslicker, don’t be ridiculous. There’s no such thing as lighthearted when it comes to hygiene on MN. If you don’t shower at least 5 times a day, you’re a skanky mare!

I know the feeling though. The idea of being told ‘you smell’ is mortifying. I’ve been very sweaty this pregnancy, summer was awful - changing tops all day, constantly washing and spraying but I still sweated and probably smelled as such. Even now in November I’m too warm to wear a coat (though the sweating has thankfully stopped). Luckily for others, I don’t work, so only a few people had to put up with my grossness.

I remember having a music teacher years ago who smelled utterly vile, but they were only part time so I don’t think anyone felt they could say anything. I wish they had though, once you smelled them it stuck with you all day.

Phew I am so glad there are some people here who can be fun! GrinWine

We used to have a guy who just smelt of BO, but he sat in a very tiny office room and every time we had to go in it was utterly VILE. The addition of Lynx never ever helped, it made it worse.

We never had to approach in the end because he got sacked for theft. After evidence of his addictions were found it was clear he had got himself into a real money rut.

Since being pregnant and now on the pill my hormones have changed and I sweat now. My normal nivea anti persperant doesn't work and I'm trying to find an alternative, so I'm very very paranoid that people can smell me.

Does he want to, the best advice I heard on mums net was wash with soap as it gets rid of bacteria and use Mitchum gel / roll on its about £5 in superdrug but really works .

DoesHeWantToOrNot · 23/11/2017 19:14

Thanks I'll try that one.

KickingCuh · 23/11/2017 19:17

Now now Rebecca, we don't tolerate any of that there humour in these parts. Take your lighthearted nonsense over to netmums, there's a good chap.

Rebeccaslicker · 23/11/2017 19:20

Oh man. I got hunned! Sad

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 23/11/2017 21:46

I'm sure you smell lovely and nothing like an old bollock
Well, I don't wear l'eau de scrotum Rebecca, so hopefully I'm OK Grin
