AIBU To ask which “value” brand items you regularly purchase from the shops?

We usually go to asda because it’s close by, I love value instant mash.

I sometimes buy a few packs and put them in the food bank, along with maybe own brand biscuits & some pasta shells.

Just asking out of curiosity.

Back bacon when making soups or pasta dishes.

Sainsburys basics Yorkshire puddings and kidney beans, mild cheddar and kids yogurts as they tend to have less sugar

I quite like the Tesco Value lemonade meself. It has a more subtle taste like a flavoured water.

Value flour, value sugar, value veggies.
Never value bacon. And I can’t stomach instant mash.
Value cereal and yogurt often has less sugar I have found.

Value passata. Exact same ingredients as supermarket brand but better looking packaging.

Pretty much my entire shop faster from cheese and coffee. My food shop budget is tiny, but I like a decent brew and cheese sarnie. Admittedly they're just the standard Asda brand rather than the value stuff.
I use lots of herbs and spices in my cooking and am quite happy.

Value chocolate digestives, value ketchup (yes really!) and value pasta all as good as anything else.
Big no no would be washing up liquid and fabric softener...rubbish imo.

Tesco Value peanut butter is lush.

Morrisons value pasta.

I’m adding some of this to my next shopping list, looks like I over look value things and could probably save a lot more money. Which is always good.

Sainsburys Basics carrots and potatoes all the time.

Nicky toilet paper from Home Bargains. Quite cheap but good quality.
Value tinned tomatos and also value spaghetti. Tesco spaghetti is about 30p a pack and I'm sure no one can taste any difference in spaghetti once it's cooked.

Be easier to list what isn't tbh! (coffee, green tea bags, spread, oyster sauce)

I get Nicky toilet roll from the shop by ours £3 for 12 ☺️. It’s not home bargains but I know what you mean.

Value beans are by far my fav, so much nicer (more salt and sugar!) than Heinz or other big brands.
Also value crunchy peanut butter

Waitrose essentials is great.

I try most value stuff and it is fine. I like asda value custard (tinned) and rice pudding for easy fillers for DC

Value/smartprice loo roll as not only is it cheap, its recycled
salad cream
creme caramels and chocolate mousse for the children

Pasta and noodles but I don't use the flavour sachets wih the noodles as I think they taste vile.

Oh and honey as well.

Chopped tomatoes, passata, beans (red kidney, baked beans) spaghetti hoops, bran flakes, pasta, rice, biscuits, frozen peas and sweet corn, peanut butter (though i tend to go for more expensive one without palm oil now), toilet rolls, kitchen roll.

Not frozen cauliflower or broccoli as they tend to be tiny and I like huge chunks.
Cereal wise the weetabix and Rice Krispies were horrible.
The kids found the ketchup too runny.

Cheddar although stopped thiswhen the price difference at one point as so minuscule it wasn't worth it
Veg when it's available
Ditto fruit - basics apples are fine, just smaller!

Used to get value butter but it seems to have disappeared. Finding value fruit and veg harder to find.
