I LOATH SCATTER CUSHIONS

I hate scatter cushions...even the name scatter is vile. I know that they maketh a bedroom look cosy, but "public place" scatter cushions; those on a hotel bed...well I can't help thinking that some naked person has used it in a "peekaboo' type way to cover their money-maker, or rested their lice-infested head on them.
And don't get me started on the 'throw' at the bottom of the bed... I always think that the person before me has just either had sex on the sexy-fur-throw OR just done it AND wiped their knob on it...just because they can OR crawled 'pubically' over it, in a sex-kittenish way...
Obv. I have an over active imagination, watched too many US dramas but dear reader...when do they ever get washed????

I just always assume that people have sat on them, put their bags on them, or thrown them on the floor and they are being put back on the otherwise clean bed. But yes, they annoy me. I don't want to have them on top of clean pillowcases, and if I take them off the bed I don't want to come back and find they've been put back on. And I don't care if the bed doesn't fully tie in with the curtain colour scheme.

You know, I didn't mind them until I read that OP. I'm never going to trust a public scatter cushion again.

Here we take our pillows and throws off the bed, and do wash them pretty regularly.
Public scatter cushions are something different entirely < not envy

I have my head on a hotel cushion this very moment - and my mind is now questioning. Yuk. I dislike the term scatter cushion too and don’t understand the little piece of cloth across the foot of the bed.
Just checked and cushion looks and smells OK.

I don't like anything that is purely aesthetic. I just want the things that are functional to look beautiful.

Hate having to unmake my bed before I get in.

I always just remove them and throw them in the bottom of the wardrobe because they are useless.

I am very dubious about hotel cushions too. I bet they don't get swapped for each guest, or the covers washed every time.

I just chuck them off the bed.

Also hate the runner thing that goes along the bottom of the bed. Yuk.

I am weird though because I take my pillow from home wherever I go because I don't like the thought of other people's heads on my pillow.

Is the little bit of cloth at the end of the bed so that scuzzy people can lay there with their shoes on?

You need to worry about the curtains not the cushions

I stayed a decent-ish hotel recently and although everything, including pillowcase, was clean, the actual pillow stank of dirty hair. It really made me boak.

Exactly lido. That's why I take my own pillow. i would take my own duvet i have done this and my mattress if I could.

Our favourite self catering place has no less than eight of the fucking things on the bed.

They just get flung on the floor so the room looks messy immediately and I spend the remainder of the time tripping over them.

(it is a great place other than that)

I can kind of understand the throws at the end of the bed as people walk in and immediately flop on the bed so it protects from shoes.... But then again, it shouldn't be an issue if they put on a clean duvet cover for each guest...

Gosh well id never thought about people applying their pubic areas to scatter cushions. But I do think they are pointless and annoying and make everywhere look clutterred and twee. My MIL had them everywhere!!!

I include ditching the bed adornments as part as my initial pube check of hotel whites.

If check out time is 10am and Check in time is 2pm do you think all the sweat from the night before's guests will have evaporated from the pillows and mattress by then?
