What is this join our 'whitelist' thing which keeps trying to load on every page of MN?

And how do i stop it? Anyone else suddenly got it today?

It's taking up a big strap line acoss the top of the page and is annoying. Using laptop.

I’ve got an annoying white line near the top of my screen that stays there as I scroll down; I wonder if it’s related? I’ve got Never Ads running.

Just taken a screen shot showing said white line. Hope it shows up.

I clicked on the uBlock logo which has a block element choice, but it just made the screen go a bit dark. New window for MN and whirly circle is still there.

I'm on Firefox if that makes any odds.

Basically, MN have been greedy and opted for overly-intrusive advertising, spurring users to use Adblock and not whitelist the site.

Any former Independent will know that site's advertising renders it unusable. There's a compromise to strike between revenue use and usability and MN have opted for the former, which has obviously backfired.

I've got the white line too. It's where an ad used to be.

Sorry fraudian had to take DD4 to the loo. Now i've made her breky and i'm back on it.

When the screen darkened i thought i'd blocked the whole of MN as well.

Maybe it would be a good thing?

Just visited the forum on my laptop for the first time in a while and, ironically, the adverts are tempting me into getting an adblocker. No joke, the banner adverts at the top take up half the screen before they irritatingly close back up.
