He's BU? Surely? We both love a name, but as he had a rabbit with that name when he lived alone, he doesn't want to use it, WTF?

steff13 · 04/10/2017 23:03

Daisy17 · 04/10/2017 23:03

Our DS1 shares a name with DP's beloved pet cat from when he was a teenager.....

tippz · 04/10/2017 23:05

You HAVE to tell us what it is/was!

please tell me you don't wanna call your child Thumper.

honeylulu · 04/10/2017 23:07

Hoppity?

PunkyBubba · 04/10/2017 23:07

My friends named their pet rabbit with their favourite girls name.. Then a year later had a baby girl.. they ended up calling her the same name as the rabbit as they loved the name so much.. I don't think they ever mixed them up by accident.. I don't think the rabbit or baby was upset..

Staple25 · 04/10/2017 23:08

OliviaStabler · 04/10/2017 23:08

Sorry, x post

WorraLiberty · 04/10/2017 23:09

Bunny McBunny Face?

fruitandbarley · 04/10/2017 23:10

I had a cat with our dd name , you really do forget all about it.

WorraLiberty · 04/10/2017 23:10

Oh Violet is a nice name

Although I have a friend name Violet and I've always nicknamed her Violent.

steff13 · 04/10/2017 23:12

I like Violet. It's a pretty name for a girl. Weird name for a rabbit, though. Rabbits should be named Flopsy or Cottontail or Jessica.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 04/10/2017 23:13

My mother refused to even entertain the idea of a pet dog through my entire childhood. Once I'd left home she and my sister got a dog and gave it my favourite girl nameGrin

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 04/10/2017 23:13

Is it Buffy?

CoffeeAndEnnui · 04/10/2017 23:14

Violet is a beautiful name. Try him with Violet the 2nd?!

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 04/10/2017 23:15

Ah, Violet.

Whenever I hear that name I picture little Fiver saying, "Violet's gone!" to the other bunnies. Tears me up inside.

yolofish · 04/10/2017 23:18

Our rabbits were called Pepsi and BenBen. pretty safe there! Violet is pretty though, was my grandmother's name.

SkintAsASkintThing · 04/10/2017 23:19

Violrt........nn bunny WinkGlitterballEaster Smile

Wdigin2this · 04/10/2017 23:20

I'm assuming it's Jessica....a compromise might be Jessica-Jane....and stick to it!!

Pascall · 04/10/2017 23:27

Our rabbit was called Casserole.

Italiangreyhound · 04/10/2017 23:29

As the person who gave birth I would normally side with you (assuming the daughter is a birth daughter) but on this occasion I think you should both find a different name, maybe use this name as a middle name.

BackforGood · 04/10/2017 23:34

You say "We both love", but he clearly doesn't love it for a dd, as he's used it for his rabbit.
Find a different name you both want to use.

DeadDoorpost · 04/10/2017 23:35

Pascall please tell me it was a joke because of rabbit casserole...
My sister called her chicken Nugget Mcgee...

Flyinggeese · 04/10/2017 23:36

I can definitely see his side to this. I'd not push for the name as if he relents, secretly, he will always wish you'd both chosen another name. It's not worth it.

Laughing at the 'Thumper' suggestion! : )
