this monster (I was encouraged by another thread MN, PLEASE don't delete me, it's the best I've ever made, it's not really a TAAT).

We have steamed carrots and cabbage and boiled spuds to go with it. Plus, instamatic gravy (as called in this house, sorry).

PickaChew, never give up. Get a square of kitchen towel and wipe some oil around your tin/metal dish (never use pyrex for toad in the hole). Mine never sticks.

I'd hate it if you did that to me - because I love sausage and mash and don't like toad in the hole at all.
But presumably you know that whoever you are serving it to like it, so all is good.

Oh man! I've just eaten a rather disappointing pork and apple casserole. I was looking forward to it but it was rather flavourless.
And then I see that. Toad in the hole! A glorious baby of a toad in the hole.
I'm crying right now, I am so jealous.
The last time I made toad, I wrapped the sausages in bacon, cut them in half and stood them up. When it was cooked they looked like a line of willies in batter.

Forgive me for being a Canadian and not knowing what that is... but now that I have seen it, I MUST MAKE IT!

Please, someone help and tell me where to find instructions on how to make that pan of awesome.
