this monster (I was encouraged by another thread MN, PLEASE don't delete me, it's the best I've ever made, it's not really a TAAT).

We have steamed carrots and cabbage and boiled spuds to go with it. Plus, instamatic gravy (as called in this house, sorry).

There's not much I miss since going veggie but that has really got the cravings going.

Dh and DD would be overjoyed by the toad in the hole, but would be disappointed to get boiled potatoes with it - they'd much much much prefer mash.

FWIW we had some very disappointing Merguez sausages for dinner. Nothing like the real thing, a pallid imitation from a local sausage maker who is lauded to the skies but really is not all that.

We had toad in the hole last night but I had to use cocktail sausages cos I didn't have any big ones.

Is the aunt Bessie veggie one nice data? I don't mind veggie sausages but they're not the same as proper ones, especially in toad in the hole.

I totally accept it's my own fault for choosing to be veggie but missing the meat today.
