There have been so many unsupportive DHs posted about lately that I wanted to redress the balance! Smile

AIBU to have requested toast AND cereal in bed this morning with my tea? Which DH made and delivered with a smile? Brew Smile

MyHusbandIsNotADick · 30/09/2017 08:51

Name changed as this is very outing. My husband is really decent too!

InThisTogether · 30/09/2017 09:11

Mine's great too... like a normal, functional human being. I look after him and he looks after me.
You'd think by comments on here that all MumsNetters had the world's supply of arseholes.
Good post OP.

Bananmanfan · 30/09/2017 09:16

I have a lovely one too! It hasn't always been plain sailing, when on Mat leave he seemed to have several people putting fleas in his ear about what I should be doing for him, which resulted in some arseholery. Since the DCs have turned into people, he couldn't be lovelier.

MrsDirtyBear · 30/09/2017 09:20

Mine also brought me breakfast in bed this morning (as he does every morning). I feel lucky to have him especially after reading about some of the awful husbands/partners on mumsnet.

mcpound · 30/09/2017 09:23

I had breakfast in bed too! He even made a menu( special occasion) 😁

My DH is lovely too, a real star. Every morning, without fail, he comes upstairs with a cup of tea for me. Probably what I appreciate most is that he sometimes takes the DDs to the park/soft play leaving me at home to have some space. Smile

PollytheDoily · 30/09/2017 09:27

Mine is great too. Couldn't be without him Grin

FindingNemoandDory · 30/09/2017 09:41

Great to hear about all these other lovely husbands out there!

Would like to add I'm not smug, I know I'm lucky and things can change etc but would like to celebrate the moment! He's not perfect either, but on the whole I'm very lucky 🍀

That breakfast menu is adorable.

'Sun baked beans', 'egg yellows', 'toasted bread surprise' Grin

Thank you for the early morning smiles.

Oldraver · 30/09/2017 09:49

I've started a new (temporary) job this week...OH has got up each day, on his days off, to make me coffee before I go..even though he is feeling rough and not had much sleep (night worker)

PointingandStaring · 30/09/2017 09:51

egg yellows

Absolutely love that 😁

yorkshireyummymummy · 30/09/2017 09:51

Mine is either wonderful or a knob. I veer from being madly in love to disliking him wanting to stick my filleting knife between his 7th and 8th ribs
But he brings me tea in bed every morning, he is very loving , and he adores me. He is honest - blinding so- and would never cheat on me.
So in the grand scheme of things I'm pretty lucky. I wouldn't swap him
unless Daniel Craig wants me and I have to admit to a slight degree of smug marriedness as advocated by Bridget Jones.
It's nice to hear that there's a few of us out here who have decent men!!

RonSwansonsMoustache · 30/09/2017 09:52

Yeah mine’s great too - coffee in bed every morning before he leaves for work (I leave after him) - and normally dinner in the oven when I get home. He’s fab :)

flumpybear · 30/09/2017 09:52

Mine is supportive too but he's well supported by me
Occasionally he dies something dick ish - sometimes hum dingers so I'm not toooooo boastful here

Blueskyblue · 30/09/2017 09:54

I'm typing this from my bed whilst DH is out, in the drizzle, taking DS for a nice long Saturday morning walk so I can have a lie in and chill.

*DS is wrapped up warm and in his buggy, with a rain cover, just in case you think he's being dragged round the streets in the rain!

Sayyouwill · 30/09/2017 09:54

Mines great and I love him so fully and deeply.
He annoys the hell out of me when he's got music on as he always changes the words to narrate what he's doing and I end up with his version of a song stuck in my head.
I wouldn't change him for the world. He's literally on his way out to get me a McDonalds breakfast

GladAllOver · 30/09/2017 09:58

Nice to read these. My DP is wonderful too. He's been the other half of me since the night we met.

OrSoItSeemsThatWay · 30/09/2017 10:03

My DH is also lovely and has made me breakfast and coffee this morning. Does lots more for me too. I think it's worth pointing out because so many posters set the bar really low and are posting that their partner is a 'great husband / dad' seemingly on the basis that he doesn't openly cheat or beat them up. And they don't believe there are better men out there, when in fact there are, but you have to believe you deserve one.

duvetdaysgone · 30/09/2017 10:43

My one can be oh so moody, but it never lasts long & we laugh together every day 🤣 we both do little things for each other and that makes a big difference. 👍

ticketytock1 · 30/09/2017 11:17

Another one here with an amazing DH. I always wanted a husband who was like my dad (who is fucking awesome) and I got one! Couldn't be happier unless I win the lottery

TheKidsAreTakingMySanity · 30/09/2017 11:30

Last summer holidays I got up first ONCE. I'm a SAHM and he works but get the whole holidays off. I never asked him to get up and sort the kids out but he's such a morning person and I'm.... not. Even I don't like morning me. 😂
He never thought anything of it. He also likes to do the laundry so if I've not got round to it, he does.
But I do like to cook so that's something that he never ever does. I asked him to put the spuds in the oven to bake recently while I was out taking the kids to various clubs and when I got back 1.5hrs later they were uncooked but slightly warmed. He had put the oven barely on warm 🙄. He's very pretty though. Grin

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 30/09/2017 15:40

I have an awesome DH too. Sometimes he's a bit of a dick - nobody's perfect - but he's a keeper and we love each other very much. We laugh every day.
I currently think he's the best husband in the world as he's taken our 2.5yo DD away for the weekend leaving me in heavenly peace Grin

Giggorata · 30/09/2017 16:35

My DH has his moments, too.

smudgedlipstick · 30/09/2017 16:37

Genuinely thought I was the only one on here with an amazing supportive, thoughtful partner. Couldn’t be without him, it’s nice to read about everyone else’s lovely relationships

ineedwine99 · 30/09/2017 16:42

Mines awesome, cooks, we share housework and gardening plus he does tonnes of stuff with our baby, when she was tiny he’d get in from work and take her so i could shower etc. Loves spending time with her, taking her for trips out so i can have some free time. We of course have the odd disagreement
